I don't know if it HAS to be that particular type controller,but a sewing machine shop should have something that will work.

Before I got my Hightower lathe which came with a Dayton motor and it's own controller,I needed a wrap motor and foot control to adapt my wood lathe for doing wraps.

We have a local sewing machine shop here where the owner has done nothing but sewing machines and vacuum cleaners FOREVER.

I got an OLD Westinghouse (American craftsmanship) motor and a customized,heavy duty foot control for 15.00. Tommy D.

Good info. The Porper model B has an outlet right on the front plate and a switch to move it to foot pedal. Also...right on the front plate.
