Cue butt diameter older cues vs. new

Cuetecs have ridiculously skinny joint size. I think the original designer was just clueless. Today, even skinny cf cues have joint size around .840". Cuetecs are much thinner . Cues in 80's were already much slimmer than the old school Cues. People are taller todays. Kids are getting bigger...

Why did Earl lose the Hong Kong Color of Money $100,000 match to Efren?

Funny , but some of Efren's backers did not show up at the venue on the third night because Efren was getting clobbered. More interesting facts about this match; It was supposed to.be race to 100 ..It was stretched to 120 somehow. It was not winner.take all..The parity was 75-25. And Efren still...

Why did Earl lose the Hong Kong Color of Money $100,000 match to Efren?

Earl let up at 104-87 then Efren's break started working . Efren slow rolled a little and played real good safes . Caught up Earl at 111. They tied again at 117. Earl breaks and scratches . And from there he just lost his marbles .

    Searing Cue

Actually, I just tried to answer your question what makes Searing cues special. Hercek, having lineage to Spain is of course great. Petersen is actually my favorite maker of all time. I don't play much anymore. I just make sticks.

    Searing Cue

Th That's what they said 5 years ago. Prices still keep.going up. And it will be ridiculous once he retires. I'm just talking about the cues. Not gonna go into the other stuff. Ask any cue maker you know who's not jealous of him and has good knowledge. Most will tell you why his cues command...

    Searing Cue

His veneers are not flat pieces of dyed wood. They are V shaped woods he cuts and dyes himself. That's why you don't see a vertical line where they meet at the top. His inlay over inlay is second to none. The internals are pretty much perfect.
