Never hit a radial with ivory, I have a Putnam sneaky with a radial and white phenolic so I imagine the hit will be similar. Firm but not as hard as SS. I had a Scruggs with a 3/8x10 with Ivory and It hit awsome! I would think the 3/8x10 and a radial in the flat faced ivory joint would hit...

Well with all the experiance you have and the sheer number of tables you set up in an single year I think that qualifys you to make a judgement weather a cloth is up to your standards (which should be industry standards) or not. Can't wait for your new DVD's Glen!

I noticed these strings uraveling as well. The stuff is fast though:D I agree with glen, for larger rooms with 9ft tables it is very cost effective compared to simonis. Seems to be wearing well too. 4 months on our main table here and still holding up great. No holes, very few burn marks...

I've heard of it. They call it shooting the shine. I cant see it being anything other than an aiming point to look at

The way I have done it with good success is to use a boaring bar to remove the insert and tennon the ring is glued onto. Bore it out till the wood is all gone then you can snap the ring off.

The royal oak's are a med tip. I havent had any crack or dry rot. Most replacing I do is beacuse of dropped cues and tips popping off this way. I charge other bars $3-5 per cue depending on how may thet send me. I clean the ferrule and make everything look nice. We have 144 house cues out here...

I have been using royal oak tips for years. Cheap, and they seem to hold up good. Muellers sells them as well as most other suppliers. They run about $7 a box for 50 tips. I get the 14 mm's. Try em out.

They need to go to a 4 inch pocket and break from the box. No Phenolic tips on the break cues. This is the World Pool Championships after all. Make the playing conditions the toughest possible. I like the race to 17 keep that. :)
