Not sure if its available in the US, but those inexpensive Korean Carom cues (12 mm ferrule) are great for the money !!!..the taper is not PRO-TAPER...and the shaft is very very very stiff...this is what I currently use.... it has a LARGE wooden screw which is located at the shaft which screws...

How would an additional 1 inch on a shaft add delfection ?

I use a 6 USD cue for a break cue I got at a flea market....its actually a Carom cue about 16 ounces with a shaft stiff as hell !!!....... btw..it had 2000 dings and scratches ..but a new coat of finish and whala.......looks good as new....I even got another one so I can have an extra shaft :-)

this also saves you from buying a longer case....

why not ask a cuemaker to add a 4-5 inch extension on the bottom section of your cue. This should be inexpensive and almost any cue maker or machinist would be able to handle this....this would also address the whippy issue .... though the length of the shaft should not affect the stiffness but...

polishing ivory ferrule... as long as there are no scratches.. I use rubbing compound or Polyglaze CUT and Polish or Polyglaze Dimond finish...all are automotive products....used to shine cars....

IMO ...if there was a difference, I doubt that anyone would be able to tell which cue has the BE maple forearm or the cue which has Cocobola Forearm.... besides any cuemaker worth his salt should be able to make cues with different woods which all play the same..this is why some cue custom...

Why choose when you can have both.... BE maple forearm and butt sleeve and cocobola Handle... I use something similar but the handle is Ebony 21 oz....
