I haven't read through the entire thread but I just thought that I would say this. Snooker players in general were agreeing that the pockets were getting too generous about a couple of years ago (watch some of the 2009 WC, some of the biggest pockets professional snooker has ever seen) and now...
Played snooker for about six months then played a few hours of pool and made my first run out. Have since given up pool to focus on snooker but still love the game.
Snooker players hold the cue the same way round for every shot, and most of them play with just one cue throughout the course of their career. This means that if there is a slight bend they are so used to it that their brain subconsciously allows for it. Stephen Hendry would be a good example of...
When I play in a match, the only thought in my head is WIN. I try to play every shot in the way that will benefit me most, if I play a bad shot I show no reaction and don't get mad.

The finish is just rediculous :grin: From the world snooker shoot-out last weekend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_zHGu0iBTE
Another great match from this tournament with, if anything, a slightly better finish, this one featuring the world champion...
Haven't heard of a "piston stroke" before and don't really know what it is, but by the comments I'm going to assume that it's dropping the elbow on the backswing?? If so then that is purely done to keep the cue on a level plane. This is nessecary more for snooker players because they hold the...
Search for "thekingofcrucible" he has uploaded many matches in their entirety, and the quality is very high too. I reccomend the Selby-Higgins game from the world championship 2009. Excellent match.
