Eric, you made a great point, great cue makers know how to mix woods and materials that work with each other to perform (hit) good.

Tad doesn't deal directly with the public for cue orders, they will do repairs on their own cues unless someone else has altered the cue. Call them for quote on a refinish, even if you have their address always call first (especially if they don't know you). Fred has never doubted continuing...

One of a kind Ariel Carmeli I designed this cue, Ariel was skeptical about it cause he doesn't normally like brown or earth tone colors, it came out great.

I have the same lathe and with a center and live center a full cue wont fit, you would need the 40" bed

Tad switched to laminated maple handles in the 90's, before he passed away he told me because the cues were slightly warping when they sent them to Japan. Even seasoned maple will still move when you put enough humidity surrounding it.

Due to some part it is the cue makers construction, I work with Ariel Carmeli, we do a lot of repairs, we have seen cues from nearly every maker come through the shop, It is very surprising how many cues from certain makers are not straight, the ivory problem is due to climate, most cue makers...
