    WTB Tascarella

If you are going to do a layaway, instead, why not set this money aside in a bank account each month and buy in the fall ? I'm not getting this. tim

My first "Valley Forge" experience. (long post)

My first VF experience also. I'll have to say, its probably my last. I saw Painter playing cheap stuff, $40/gm winner stays. The guy can play, but he can woof even better. Always jawin on someone. The folks betting in the audience were as lame as could be. Odds to most were something...

    Greyhound Named Allison Fisher

Thanks for the info Johnny, but I've had my share of cheaper tracks. If I ever get back to Mobile, I owe something to somebody and it ain't money. Big difference between horse racing and dog racing. In the former, the trainers actually listen to owner's tirades. In dog racing, all the trainer...

    Greyhound Named Allison Fisher

That's great. Keep us (me) advised. I'm close to Twin River and (unfortunately closing) Raynham. Gee. DbD ?? That's one heck of a stud dog. I'd love to be back in the game, but I promised the wife that any dog we owned would come home and the cats run the roost right now. A few more...

    Greyhound Named Allison Fisher

Johnny, sounds like you've owned dogs. Is the dog at Gulf ? Keep us advised if you know where this dog ships to. BTW, do you know the breeding ? tim

What do you think of the predator shaft?!

I have both the LD and RD versions of the USS. One thing is true about the predator, they are as stiff as a board. Really stiff. The USS deflects a bit more, but a much easier hit to get along with. And you can run the same shaft from stick to stick, changing only the plug. Just like Yamaha...

    CueComponents E-mail

You know, I've never had a problem with Joe. Did I think it was a nutty email ? Sure. But I've had days like that myself, so I'm not going to judge. Easier to let it go. If you had to ignore all of the characters in the pool industry, you'd be playing golf! Now that's FUNNY...

JoeyA Goes to Valley Forge (to do commentary)

Sorry Joe. I was just trying to be silly. I do wish you the best. I'll have to wear my hat to avoid blinding the commentators with my human cue ball. tim

JoeyA Goes to Valley Forge (to do commentary)

Wasn't a crack, Joe. Just trying to get a giggle. Don't be so serious. Geez Louise. Being funny ain't my day job and neither is your commentary on pool matches. If you didn't think it was funny, just roll your eyes and I'll try to stop by and wish you good luck. tim

Quitting Smoking and Its Effect On One's Pool Game...

Jammers, thank a lot. I speak from experience. I have agoraphobia, which is termed "fear of the marketplace." In college, I would go through classes and all of a sudden, BAM! Sweating uncontrollably, heart beating 200 bpm, chest pains, dizziness, the whole caboodle. Today, they have drugs...

Quitting Smoking and Its Effect On One's Pool Game...

Then you totally missed it. Quiting and its impact on your pool are totally related. Alleviating tension from quiting is about mind control..the same thing that is needed to quit. So, lets review again. Breathing control. Count to 50 backwards. Close your eyes for a moment and see Carl...

Streamers ??? WTF!!! I'll be the bald guy making faces and blowing Michelob out of his nose in a vain attempt to get you to laugh!! See you there Joey A. Represent yourself (and us) well. I promise I wont give you the plumbers crack. tim

Quitting Smoking and Its Effect On One's Pool Game...

Waldron - why are you worried about the impact on your pool game ? What you should be worried about, and the ONLY thing that you worry about....is that you keep on TRYING to quit. I've been off them for years and I still try every day. If you get a nervous urge, you can a) take a deep breath...

Low deflection shafts less important when playing one-pocket?

With all of the banking involved, nevermind trying to get the cue ball to a particular point, I can't see why an LD shaft isn't important. Always nice to get a little lift to a cueball off the rail to get to the bottom rail and safe. tim

Lucasi Cues and Smartshaft for sale

I own the smart shaft at issue. Unless Rob's got another one. I know that Billy Stroud recommends glueing them, but I've never had a problem either. The LD ferrules may crack, but atlas has the titan ferrule material for replacement. BTW, the Luc Hybrid is one fine stick. I love the grip. tim

Should league finals be held on barboxes?

Here's a question for you. How many times during the finals did you or your team either a) break and run out (or run out after opponent's first shot) or b) play an effective safety after the break while several of your balls were on the table ? So far, I can think of one player that has...
