    Bar Box straight pool

and next time, play from the break. The right way. At least once out of five practice sessions. One doesn't always wind up with a break shot when trying to get into the balls. Good luck! tim p.s. 37 and still the hat on backwards ??? Hmmmmm. Aren't you supposed to be discovering Nat King...

    Bar Box straight pool

Great comments, Paul. Still, the man can control the rock. Nice little 3 inch draws, can do a lot without a lot of speed. The rest of it will come after someone drills a few things into his head, but I would die to make a ball dance and die like this.. tim

    Bar Box straight pool

I watched the video and have a question or two and some comments. First, was the ball a bar table ball or a regular billiards ball ? Either way, you pot the balls very well and have a very keen eye for patterns. You should have hit 100 easily the way you were going. I understood your last...

    Attention Meucci owners!!

Ryan, I agree with the guy above. YOu must be some kind of insane man to take on this business. But I'm awfully glad that you are. I'll have a couple coming your way. tim

    Bar Box straight pool

71 is very good. You should be able to get 100 on a 9 footer. But instruction is important in this game. Try to get some or read a decent book on the subject. tim

    Bar Box straight pool

If you are new to the game and really did 70 on a bar box, you should be shot. Seriously. Unless you are fibbing. If you really did, you need to get your bum to an instructor and then qualify for a 14.1 event. Or you could try out for the Red Sox.... tim

    WTB Harris Blugrass

This one is killing me. I'm not parting with my BG for anything, but this one sounds like a true bargain. More SW's in the world, not that many BG's. I've hit with pretty much all of them and this one always makes me happy when I hit with it. Best of luck in your search, tim

    need opinion on tips

After moori's, Snipers, everests and Wizards, I can say that I've had more luck and less heartache with the Wizards. Medium specifically. It did just fine as used by our whole APA Vegas team in the middle of the pressure packed APA National 8 ball finals. tim

    shoulder hurts like hell

If you are 6 ft and 110 lbs, either you should change your diet or become a jockey. Other than that, bend your bridge arm....don't leave it straight. That will relieve the pressure. tim

Congratulations. States are typically much tougher than AMI's. Just one comment about the post. Paragraphs! Again, congrats and hope you do well at States. tim

    Greatest cuemaker ever...........

One more thought....and not a cuemaker, although critical to today's cues. How about the guy/company who improved glues to where they are today ? Its allowed for pie shafts, which are part and parcel of the LD shaft developments. Like it or not, many of us are using LD shafts of one sort or...

Isn't it funny how Jerry Franklin isn't mentioned in this string ? Just a thought. tim

    Greatest cuemaker ever...........

Fred, I no longer have the little book from Burt on this subject (I gave it to Mike Webb), but I could swear that you have it backwards. But memory does wonderful things as we age, so I'll have to yield to yours... tim

    FS: 2x4 Centennial Case

Needless to say, Centennials are no longer made. Finest case ever produced. I love mine. Can't believe someone hasn't snapped this up. tim

    Greatest cuemaker ever...........

Of all the posts here, this one makes a lot of sense. Burt is soooo underated. George was producing buzzy cues until Burt figured out that a phenolic ring in front of the handle controlled the tendency. That, and his phenominal forearms make this guy the best cuemaker ever. tim

Cue - How Do You Know

Sunday in the Fall is for one thing and one thing only! Football. I watch it at Jack's Bar in Warren (NOT Jack's Restaurant!). Water Street. Stop in for a cold one if you get punted early. Best draft beer I've ever had. Plus free entertainment. That is, if you count folk yelling at the TV...

Cue - How Do You Know

So, back to the beginning, what is not to like about the Jacoby ? Don't like the shaft ? Don't like the weight ? Don't like the balance ? Or, are there other issues (ones I didn't mention) such as butt circumference ? There is a difference between a cue you LIKE to shoot with and one that...

Cue - How Do You Know

I can't say that I understand everything about this post, but here's something to think about. Cues are about three things: Weight, balance and deflection. Deflection is all about what you can get used to. Some play better with LD, some do not. Pick one and determine which type of shaft is...
