    Good ebony and good shaftwood

I'm not a cuemaker, but here's my limited knowledge on the subject. First, it is said that Jerry Franklin of Southwest Cues used Nelsonite in his bathroom (no ventilation) to treat his shafts. Without ventilation, may have contributed to his cancer. Still, all these years later, I'd say his...

    Good ebony and good shaftwood

NE cuemakers have been using Nelsonite for years. Of course, if you knew anything about the subject, you would know that Nelsonite has been replaced by almost all with a less toxic solution called Resolute and that clear, white maple isn't what its cracked up to be anyway. More rings...

    Who's Going To Apa Nationals

That'll do fine. I'll pm you a cell. BTW, I am very jealous. A dead ringer for the immortal Earl Anthony (of bowling fame), as you get older, you'll get better looking, just like Earl. Dangnabbit! See you out there Koop. tim

    Best pools halls in Vegas?

I'm not a vegas resident, so I can't comment as well as one, but the times I've been to the Vegas Cue Club on Sahara, its been great. Very tight shimmed CG's. Very fair. Plus, one of the best Thai restaurants next door. I'll check out the other place though, especially for the eye candy. tim

    Who's Going To Apa Nationals

Koop Didn't we talk ? U military HC with glasses ? Wife (and teammate ?) was a tallish brunette, short curly hair who kinda looked like that actor in Gilmore Girls series ? Am I remembering this correctly ? I recall you had quite the dogfight on Sunday in that last match! tim

    Who's Going To Apa Nationals

Yes, we played at Accu. Who did you beat on that Sunday ? You don't have a Hoppe Webb cue (coco), do you ? I thought I knew most of the teams who made it. Wasn't the $4800 fiasco something? I'm reading all these other teams who got all this extra cash to go and good old dave gives $500 to...

    Who's Going To Apa Nationals

 Going. Team - Buzzed B's (from the B's Nest in Fall River, MA). Hope to see you guys there. Slop counts ? Yes, because a 3 has to compete with a 6 sometimes. The only rule that makes no sense to me is the 23 handicap limit. Bumping to 25 (5 5's can play) is such a problem ? Heck...

WOW! A cue purchase finally came out right!

You know the deal. Itchy fingers. Not happy with your doink/bar cue. Extra time at work. Ahhhh, what the heck. An ebay purchase. Chet Krick's 13th cue. I had Chet make me one a while back, so I knew his work. Get it in yesterday and the shaft is like a GD toothpick! Ya, sure! this is...

APA Las Vegas trips, how does your region do it?

C/C is at the very least, centrally located. The Riv is pretty much across the street. Its an older property that is focused on kids. If I were checking in there, I'd have a $20 bill ready upon check in and try the trick. When the supervisor isn't looking, ask the check in agent whether the...

APA Las Vegas trips, how does your region do it?

Same deal with us. Cost me $400 for the flight alone. If the HR didn't come in for free rooms, I would have been stuck at Circus Circus. Ugh. tim

    Question for Eye Glass wearers

The problem with glasses is the Galoopian effect. While shooting with glasses, the balls look smaller. You can't fix that. Contacts make this situation MUCH better. Regardless of which way you go, you can make your plight better by changing your stance. Bend your bridge arm and that will...

Another Free Cue Give away ....

So, what's the deal ? Is the SP spoken for ? I just ran into an older guy who hangs at our local pool hall every day. Hits the same shot in practice for hours at a time. No cash, but has a good word to say to all, playing off the wall. Lots of stories of the old days here in Providence...

    First experience with milk duds.

I too tried the milk dud thing. While I'll probably let Mike Johnson do the work next time, it was a good learning experience. First Gen was squeezed too much. Second Gen was better. Next Gen will be 14mm's and not so much squeezing. Observations ? Holds chaulk well. Very accurate on off...

Need help to buy a decent cue...

If you can wait a month, I'll sell you my Lucasi L-E13. Its got a matching ring, original version predator shaft mounted on the radial pin. Hits very nicely. I'd keep it, but I have many others that are more expensive and are trade bait. I'll be using it at the APA Nationals in Aug. I'd say...
