Help with thoughts about unknown pool cue? Thanks.

Cog? I'm probably way off. The ring work looks similar to one I've seen...

Tipping tournament directors - do you tip on calcutta amount as well?

The tournament director can kiss my @##. They already get a cut. If they don't they need to learn how to run a tournament. If I pay my entry fee and work like a dog to win a tournament the popcorn gallery deserves nothing. If I know them, I might buy them a drink to celebrate but that's the end...

    Humidity

If you have a floor drain get a hose and connect it to the humidifier. Most have that option. Let it run 24/7 like I do. The cloth is still a bit slower in the summer time but 50% humidity isn't too bad. It makes me long for "winter conditions" though.

    Biggest lies in pool stories

That's good bait! :) If someone asks how I play, says good shot or says that was close on a miss, I like to say, well I'm still learning. It's not a lie. ;) Sometimes I think people try to get in my head, even saying things like good shot, so I like to have this throwaway line. It lets me...

Chris “THE MAGICIAN” Melling Does It Again … More Amazing Shot Sequences

I just assumed he got the nickname when he played in Europe. There's no copyright on a nickname so I'm kind of in the mindset of it not mattering much.

there are only two kinds of cues to own.

IMO there is only 1 type of cue I'll own, it's one I can play with. I don't fault anyone with the money to have some eye candy cues, or ones rare enough to justify not playing with them. I get the allure of collecting... there are some beautiful cues out there. I saved up from my first real job...

If you could build your dream room that actually has a chance to stay in business…

A pool cue leaves your head hurting a lot less the next day too! ;)

Moving to a heavy playing cue

I dropped $1400 on my Diveney a few years ago and I still have no idea what the weight is. It just balances so well that I never gave it a second thought. Chances are it's around 19 but I love how it just floats in my hand. Just holding it at the shop I knew it was a keeper.

    CTE Aiming

They just got the unlucky trait of being tasty. Fried squirrel with biscuits and gravy is good eating. If I'm not hungry I just like to watch them. :)

    CTE Aiming

Perfect aiming is shooting a squirrel's head at 30 yards with iron sights on the old .22LR. It's the same as shooting pool. You gotta practice, you gotta control your breathing, control the tension in your body, control adrenaline, and hope the wind isn't too strong. And it doesn't hurt to be...

    DigiBall Passaround Reviews

I agree, it honestly isn't that bad but after using newer resin type balls it felt like a step backwards. It's perfectly serviceable but a cleaner formula like duramith feels like it would fit a more premium product like the digiball... Digiball feels like a premium product and I think it should...

    THE Magic Rack

I don't think they are good for any pool game. I was an early adopter of them but I'd rather play RYO. They make it so anyone's grandma could make the wing ball.

    Matchrooms Concern

How much would it cost you to travel to the next country over, or a couple of countries over? I'm curious. I wonder if it's a transport thing. I've also heard a lot of Euro countries are pretty liberal at time off and vacation and such. Here you're lucky to get 2 weeks off a year in most jobs...

Carbon Fiber Shaft Question - Crack?

Does the "funny" hit sound really pingy? If so, it probably means on those shots you're gripping the butt looser. I love hearing that sound because it means I'm not death gripping the cue. I like it when my cue sings to me, be it a wood, kielwood, or CF shaft. They all have a pretty voice if...

    Got some Pagulayan chalk

When the rule of thumb is chalk after every shot you'll get that. It's better to have too much chalk than not enough so you can't blame them. Not everyone knows how to chalk appropriately and I don't waste the time to teach them. And if you take the time to teach them you look like a jackass...

    DigiBall Passaround Reviews

I'm not sure what the best way to handle it would be. Maybe in the instructions under the speed heading mention that. I mean, people generally don't read the instructions, but someone wanting technical info from cue ball strikes and who purchases one may. I think it's a good option to have...

I can definitely see a similarity to archery. That would be an amazing experience to go study with the masters like he did. There's a book called Zen and the Art of Archery that is a good read, it's about a similar journey where the author studied under monks. I never really got super into...
