    Tip keeps getting shredded

It isn't temperature. I played with it all day, for 6 hours straight, before it ripped. But maybe the low temperatures dried out the leather too much over time.

    Tip keeps getting shredded

To be honest I don't maintain the tip at all. I think I used my Kamui Gator Grip tip shaper twice, and I only press on it, no scraping. Because it is a hard tip it keeps it's shape. I don't think this contributed to whatever I am doing to damage it.

    Tip keeps getting shredded

I am knowledgeable about some stuff, but I don't know anything about tips. Many of you do. This is the second time that I have damaged the tip on my 11.8 Revo. The first time it came with whatever tip was installed. The second time I believe a Kamui HII tip was used. The installer is a...

Measle ball is a training ball

I don’t really hear or read players from other cue sports complain about the equipment, other than the cloth is fast or slow compared to the rails, and if the balls/table is clean or not.

If you could build your dream room that actually has a chance to stay in business…

I would have a private club with carom tables and possibly one snooker table or Russian pyramid table. No pool tables of any kind. No alcohol or food licenses. Vending machines and ATMs only. Monthly membership fee of $50 as the only option. No employees. Open only when I am there, or to trusted...

    DigiBall Passaround Reviews

I’ve used the DigiBall for a while now and I have definitely been able to develop the skill of thinking about the tip position while standing, and then hitting that exact spot on the CB while looking at OB last. It is a layer of “feel” that can be practiced like anything else. The DigiBall...

    DigiBall Passaround Reviews

Yes. I made a companion device called DigiCast TV Kit which displays information on any HDMI device at 1080p resolution. Her is a link: https://sites.google.com/view/nrllc/pages/digicast Here is a video of some friends using it with a table TV (please excuse the tournament announcements going...

How do you guys/gals rack in 9 ball?

    10 ball: 1, 4-5, 9-10-8, 6-2-3-7 for yourself 9 ball: 1, 6-2, 5-9-3, 8-7, 4 for your opponent breaking from 6-side. I forget the optimal for yourself, I think it is something like 1, 7-8, 4-9-5, 2-3, 6

    Non-Gambling Pool Players

Card use over cash is another Americanized thing. In areas with European, Caribbean and South American cultural influences like in parts of New England, cash is still traditional and preferred. Cards full of cash as wedding gifts like in Wise Guys is still very much alive for those Americans...

    Right hand/Left eye

Same here, I am RH/LE, and my cue is positioned right about where Albin's cue is in the picture above. If you adopt the concept of vision center rather than individual eyes, then that will help you the most. I put a lot of work into my stroke which I am very happy with now, and had to try tons...

    Non-Gambling Pool Players

Another thing is that a lot of people don't even carry cash anymore. Kids use Apple Pay or credit cards, which kind takes some of the appeal away from exchanging cash.

    DigiBall Passaround Reviews

That is correct. The theoretical miscue limit is around 55%, not 50%. The grid extends to 60%.

Fractional aim points and their cut angles

Bizarre? Fractional ball aiming is probably the most widely recognized and understood way to aim not only object balls but also caroms in the world. Overlapping ball diagrams are prevalent in pretty much every piece of literature discussing billiards.

Curious if you guys live in the south. I know Virginia has a lot of mail problems. No issues up here in Massachusetts.

Fractional aim points and their cut angles

That is exactly what this thread is about. The plot shows the relationship between contact point and ball fractions, for those who are curious. Being curious is the difference between a results based person and a process based person. A results based person can easily fall into a poor man /...

Yes it does. Those are the main cut angles, and with pictures.

Fractional aim points and their cut angles

I thought I was around 0.3 but now I'm a bit better than I thought. I would say closer to 0.7. Here is a video of a 1.0 average, which happened to be part of a demo. I know you are a detractor for the DigiBall, but it is useful for showing where I hit the ball. I am white. Also ignore the...

Fractional aim points and their cut angles

It absolutely can help you determine what happened. If you find that you are moving your tip closer to center then you intend to then you could have a problem with mental contact point drift on the OB ball, which can happen from standing to bent over position. Or from pressure. This will cause...
