DD, present arguments in support of your claims.

    similarities between women and pool

Substitute teenybopper's for teenager's... and you have sumptin' that's gonna get some chuckles out of the hall hanger-ons the first time you use it.

Good cues for aprox 300~ ?

If you want the best playing cue for your money, simply follow this man's advice. If you want an OK playing cue that looks a bit fancy, go with one of the McDemmots that you listed. I speak from experience having owned a couple of McDermotts and a Bob Frey SP. I've had several good players...

URGENT: Congress Wants To Make Streaming A Felony

Neil, my understanding of the concern is... on a good number of pool streams, music is playing in the background... be it from a juke box or otherwise. The bill sounds like it would preclude that situation. I personally don't see it as a significant issue. Just have the music turned off.

    similarities between women and pool

Not sure that it's "every single time" and "ALWAYS"... but the point is well taken. Perhaps it's a subliminal consciousness wherein we unfairly blame our mothers for all of our failures and shortcomings. For most of us, our mothers played a pivotal role in raising us. If we fail, it must be...

URGENT: Congress Wants To Make Streaming A Felony

The subject of this thread is misleading, imo. Congress wants to make streaming of COPYRIGHTED material a felony.

Trying to get rack your own implemented in a certain league

That's the way that we did it in the 8-ball league that I ran for 10 years. It worked pretty well. Some people don't know how to rack a tight rack. They typically didn't have a problem with the breaker racking their own.

    Tried a different league, and...

BCAPL has player ratings?... really? How do they handicap?... assuming that is why they have player ratings? Guess that I have been away from it for too long.

    shaft too stiff?????

I've run into this with Timeless Timber shafts. I have two of them and they both are quite dark. I ordered them at 12.5 mm and with a pro taper... only to find them too stiff for my liking so I had them taken down to 12.2 mm Much better. :thumbup2:

    question on rules

That's exactly why I won't play "conceding the last shot". I don't want my mind to wonder/wander thinking if my opponent is going to concede or not. It can end up a mind game.... like... you conceded that shot last time... why not this time?... or I conceded you the same shot and now you won't...

    question on rules

Based on your description that was blatant sharking. Instead of asking if he was conceding, my approach would be to state something like... "Unscrewing your cue during the match is conceding. Even if you did not intent to concede, that was blatant sharking and unsportsmanlike. As a result of...

My new Diamond cocobolo table has arrived!

I had thought that Diamond changed the color of the logo to BLUE on those tables with the new rails coming out of the factory. Was this a modified table? Just curious. And the cocobolo looks fantastic. That's not Dymondwood, is it?

How many pool players died Rich because of pool?

I'm guessin' that very few died with a nest egg. A better question in my mind... was their quality of life better?... or worse?... for having been a pool player for all their life by comparison to their having taken a different path through life. A related issue... Mr. J and I were talking...

What do people really want from a pool room?

Alcohol sales. I had a relationship like that. I would come in and play about 25 hours a week for free but would tip the bartender generously... win/win for us both. The free pool was a benny for having run an in-house 8-ball league at this bar for about 10 years. The benny continued for...
