Since you are talking Hueblers in the Ebony thread, I have a repair where I added Snakewood and Ebony to fix the broken butt.

The cue is an Ariel Carmeli. The owner wanted joint protectors that would match his cue.

I loved that the tip was replaced a few times but the pads were left and stacked on each other. Over time they deformed a bit.

I did one recently. Gave all the warnings first, but he liked the look and that’s what mattered.

Historically it’s a shame they were chopped, but there’s no turning back time. They are what they are now so they can be displayed as is or have them rejuvenated into a new cue and live for another hundred years. I just got an old Titlist that was chopped. I am turning it into a new modern...

Are you saying you bought them? Post pictures when you get the if you did. Being chopped you could possibly make conversions if the specs are good. Search around here to see if there is something similar. https://www.billiard-antiques.com/cues_a.html

Thanks, The picture gave a different effect to me. A lot of times the pearl looks kinda cheap, but those are very striking.

I understand what you are saying, but I can't get used to a shitty tip, so it matters some.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Just can’t afford a separate lathe or CNC “yet”. Doing the pro-taper by hand with an offset is very time consuming hard to get exact repeatability.

I thought I was lucky to just find a Titlist relatively cheap. To get a Purpleheart with figure, is perfectly amazing. I put the pin in last night. Cored with maple.
