    Anyone making matte finished cues?

"finishing a cue with a matte finish"??? Sure "selling a cue with a matte finish"??? Problematic My 2 cents, Gary

    athena cues ferrules

Yes, I agree this is a good approach IF you know ahead of time the ferrule material is unlikely to stick. Or are you advocating this is a good standard method for every tip replacement? Gary

    athena cues ferrules

Yep, I had an Athena come into the shop once. Tip popped off twice, so on the last reinstall, I replaced the ferrule with a known material and the tip never came off again. Super glue or not, there are some materials out there that cyanoacrylate will not adhere to. My 2 cents, Gary

    An Mach aficionados?

Given that your question is basic to Mach3 and nothing cue specific, you'd be better off looking through some of the Mach specific forums. Here are a couple: http://www.machsupport.com/help-learning/ http://www.cnczone.com/forums/tags/mach3.html HTH Gary

    wtb joint protector pins

Dave, I am as much a stickler for forum rules as anyone, however, you have your forums mixed up. In this forum, there is no such rule. The restriction on posting sources is in the "Ask The Cuemaker" forum - that and the other rules are posted at the top of Ask The Cuemaker as a "sticky"...

    Which CNC

I am using an Ethernet SmoothStepper on my 64-bit Windows 10 computer in conjunction with a Gecko G540 and Mach3. I believe the Ethernet is generally preferred over the USB model. My 2 cents, Gary

    Regarding RAT cues

Ryan, I for one will be anxious to see your new shop set up. I/we know you will be successful. One closed door leads to new, open doors! Gary

    Contact cement.

For leather, white (Elmer's) glue or a glue stick work nicely. I have not ever done a lizard. My 2 cents, Gary

New CNC tapering complete turn key set-up

First of all, this thread has been reported. Secondly: Todd, that's a LOT of machinery at a great price. Having built something similar myself, I can say that with experience. I don't envy the support questions - but you have always done a great job on all your other products, I'm sure this one...

    Pin removal?

Get a screw extractor set (if you don't already have one) of the correct size for the pin - it is, after all, just a screw. Prepare the pin - drill the starter hole and then verify the extractor bit gets a good bite. Heat the cue pin with a large wattage soldering iron - it may take a while...

    Best Glue?

I too find 401 to be the best I have used. I've installed many tips with it, but recently a couple of White Diamonds. They are known to be difficult tips to install, but no problem with 401. It's not cheap and it's not at Home Depot or Ace Hardware, but it's good. A friend/fellow player asked...

I agree with the above - Krylon is not your friend here. But I'm more interested in seeing a picture of your "crackerized" lathe! My 2 cents, Gary
