    APA to increase skill levels

Well, if they do make a change that lengthens the overall match, there are some obvious changes they could make to shorten the matches. 1. Designated breaker for 1s and 2s. 2. Allow unlimited insta-coaches for 1s and 2s. An insta-coach requires sitting in your chair and saying one short...

    APA to increase skill levels

This would be a great change, especially if--probably only if--the team limit goes up!

Dennis calls Shane out for 20k

Seems like the way to go in terms of practicing the break would be to have two tables, side by side, with dedicated rackers. You could practice the break more or less continuously until your focus or arm gives out.

    Trip report: Jillian's Boston

Yeah, but most cities the size of Boston can support 1 reasonable facsimile of a real pool hall. Boston used to have a nice place, Boston Billiard Club (as I recall), until about 5 years ago. Now, I think you have to go to the suburbs to play real pool.

    One Pocket

Yep, I realized that. I just thought it would be funny if someone had posted that the break shot is "one of the first shots in One Pocket."

    One Pocket

Funny, at first I read that as "One of the first shots in One Pocket is the break." Either way, it's true.

Ok now that JB and Lou is dead , who's next

Maybe, but I'm not sure I want an enemy with such a nice 3C table. You do know that you have to make balls into a pocket in 1P, right? SJD vs. 3C would certainly eclipse JB vs. Lou in terms of acrimony, but I'm not sure SJD picks up a cue anymore. I'm afraid that you're too laid back for my...

Ok now that JB and Lou is dead , who's next

B-B -- You're gonna have to do better than that, son. Now hop on that tricycle and skeddadle. O-S. I've traded the occasional insult with Ilir for a decade, you have a deal! (Except for the playing him even part.) Ilir can't be my enemy because he's not really online and he doesn't pass my 9-7...

Ok now that JB and Lou is dead , who's next

I've been thinking I need an online enemy. You can only be up to 9-7 better than me, and you have to be capable of waging an anti-Cory in DC campaign that is somewhere in the range spanned by Lou's anti-JB campaign and JB's anti-Lou campaign. (That is, you must be at least as relentless as Lou...

JB vs Lou - Let's Get It On

Like others, I was on RSB at the time. If the responsibility is shared between FL and Eric, it's about 99% FL and 1% Eric. FL was about as vile, racist, insane, and disgusting as it's possible for someone to be online.

JB vs Lou - Let's Get It On

I think XX is already set at 8. Presumably, that means they finish whatever rack starts before 8 hours (hypothetically, since a match still seems unlikely).

JB vs Lou - Let's Get It On

Prorate after 4 or 5 days? I guess that would still count as negotiation, though. I wonder what John would say to 7 ahead, with all other terms accepted? Playing pool 8 hours a day is basically what I hope to do when I retire. I may change my mind about that when the time comes, though...maybe...

    Official 2015 U.S. Open Players List<<<<<<<<<

Yeah, I don't even like 9 ball that much, but I think I'll have to buy an Accu-Stats from the event just to reward what Pat has done!

One Pocket: A Game of Controlled Aggression

Have you struck a deal with someone who will have a booth at the US Open this year? Or perhaps get your own small booth? Seems like a good chance to get the word out to those who aren't on the forums, sell some books, and hopefully convert some nineball players.

U.S. Open 9-Ball Notice from Pat Fleming

No need for a response, of course, but it's just fantastic what you've done this year to poise this year's US Open for success. Thanks, Pat and thanks, Accu-Stats!

Do you use an aiming system or go by feel?

I think I saw this "system" attributed to Allison Fisher: Aim the cueball to contact the part of the object ball that's farthest from the hole. But I don't really think that's what people mean by aiming system. Question: is backhand english considered an aiming system? I would say no, because...
