    Willie Hoppe cue

If you dont want to spend the bucks to fix it up there are cue makers that will buy it to convert the forearm into a custom cue. Check the history here on AZ to see what some have sold for.

    Fox 12x36 lathe

Tom, my spindle is 1.773" but the adapter looks like it is large enough to fit over yours at 2.05". Hightower dosent give the inside diameter of the mounting collar but I think it will fit your spindle as is.

    Fox 12x36 lathe

Have you checked the chuck that Chris Hightower sells for the left side? https://www.cuesmith.com/rear-chuck-for-metal-lathe/ The mounting ring is thick and can be bored out to fit your spindle should that be needed. I installed one on my Porper cue lathe and it works great.

    Inlays in the forearm ...?

I apologize to everyone for asking such a dumb question and starting a flame war. That was not my intent. Only make 1 or 2 cues a month on average. I sell them to the local players and like the concept of "try it before you buy it". I have long ago found the truth that the price of a cue is a...

    Inlays in the forearm ...?

When cutting inlay pockets in the forearm of a cue it is important to get the cutter exactly on the center line of the forearm. Because of the round shape of the forearm, cutting to a depth of .11" at the center dont leave much room for error with a .5" wide inlay. If it is off one side will be...

    3040 cnc machine ... question ...

Thanks Kgoods for the info. Yeah they change the units quite often i guess based on what batch of parts they have access to. I dont complain as the price is about one quarter of other units. If you can make one work then you saved some cash ... if not you haven't lost a lot. I have been looking...

    3040 cnc machine ... question ...

I bought a 3040 CNC machine a few years ago and have been turning the spindle motor on and off from the control panel. It would be nice to have mach 3 turn it off at the end of the program. Dont have any internal wiring documentation and the m03 or m05 cnc instructions dont do anything. Has...

    Water Cooled Spindle

Used one of them for a while and they are very quiet and smooth running. The weight is the big factor ... very heavy compared to a Kress router. My machine seems to handle the extra weight without any issues but I think lighter is better for wear. Never noticed any heat build up even after an...

    carbon fiber cue mishap

I can tell you for a fact that McDermott CF shafts are coated with a very thin black coating over the grey CF itself. That is what comes off and the exposed CF under it is very noticeable. I can only imagine what these shafts will look like with a few years of normal wear on them. McDermott...

    Sale related question....

I understand completely that you may not like a cue you bought by mail. And could quickly put it back up for sale. Just be honest with a buyer and let him know what it was you did not like about it. It is really important to play with a cue before you buy ... but sometimes that just isnt...

Some advice needed here ... carbon fiber shaft re-tipping.

Found out the hard way that the new McDermott carbon fiber shafts have a black coating over the carbon fiber. It is a thin layer that a polish can cut thru if you get to aggressive with it. The painted on chevrons at the joint end should have been my first clue the shaft was painted. Since the...

linen wrap - change its feel? can I do it as non-cuemaker.

like Mike Webb said ... you need the tools to really do the job on a linen wrap. You must spin the cue to press it and finish it. A rough feeling wrap is pressed with spray starch and left to dry. A smother wrap can be had by using a bit of shaft sealer after the starch is almost dry and...

Does anyone bash their tip with a ball after installing it?

I guess what the OP wants to know is if you do anything to keep the newly installed tip from mushrooming after the user plays with it for a while. Some tips will mushroom more than others ... quality and type of construction has a lot to do with it. Two examples: Ultra-Skin tips hold their...

The original post is from Feb 2020 and someone replied two days later that they would take it. I would assume it is a long gone pecan and the seller forgot to post the fact he sold it.
