a 29 inch butt might not fit........ you will have a dead center in the headstock and a live center in the tailstock................... does it have a 1.375 hole through the head stock........... what about taper bars.............????
it's easy ............. we had a 6 on our team........ he lost every match for a whole session......... went down to a 5............. bounced him off the team............. now he has assembled his own team of cheaters..................... he told me that my team will never get to Vegas...
you are over thinking it......... I have left my 2 piece stick laying on the table, leaning against the wall....... in the cue rack.......... never experienced a problem.................... just play pool
first of all........ never finish with the sanding mandrel.............. use it to sand to size after finishing........... make a delrin mandril that is about 1/2 in to 5/8 in dia and finish with that ........ then face it and put on the mandrel.................
pm me if you want more...
why not just bore out he butt to accept the bigger bumper........... I use bumpers that have a .620 stem and I bore the hole to .600........ a nice tight fit.... sometimes I use a little wax on the stem to get to go in................

I have been using one of these to weigh epoxy mix and for weighing cues .............. every couple years there is so much glue on t that I can't read it............. so I toss it and buy another one.....................
Kim
yes... I have done that............. so I bought my own lot of CF shafts with out any finish............. I wet sand them with 600 and wax them ............ I like the look of the natural CF

I use collets about a week after I got my lathe....................... they generally suck........... hard to get to run true and leave marks on the cue................. get some of Langley custom cues wraps.......... been using them for years...
so finally in February, my wife and I both got the covid. We have no Idea where we got it..... no one we know had it at the same time.................. it was like a bad cold with loss of taste and smell and some unexplainable aches and pains............... stayed away from the pool hall for...
my finish cut size is .840 at the joint.......... 3 coats of 1618 gets me to about .860............. I sand it back to .845 ....... I never sand through and there is enough to be sure of a smooth surface without imperfections.......... then I put on 3 coats of Solarez UV ...... that gets me...
if you shop gets down below 60 deg.... the 1618 epoxy will crystalize in the bottle............ you can tell as it gets cloudy......... the manufacturer says to put in in warm water................. I just put it in the microwave 10 seconds at a time until it is warm and clear...
Have you tried Max clr 1618 as a base coat? it never yellows and is crystal clear.......... I have been using it for years..... never a problem............. I usually use 3 coats and never sand between coats............
