Do the Ko brothers just suck now?

Well, if SVB ever falls on hard times, he'll be glad to know that he could sell his sperm for tons of $$$, and people would gladly pay.

What is the closest an amateur level player has ever come to winning an event at DCC?

His kid Tommy demolished Earl in the 9ball a couple years later in the early rounds. (No, he didn't win the whole thing, but figured to throw that in since it was an amateur crushing a champion)

Should more 9/10 ball tournaments be played on a "Call shot, Call safe" format?

There should probably be a distinction on if one is a veteran player, a fan, or a newbie player. In my experience, most veteran players are going to move away from luck. Most fans are just that, fans attending tournaments, so it really doesn't affect them either way if someone gets pooped on in...

What is the closest an amateur level player has ever come to winning an event at DCC?

Troy Frank won the 9ball one year. Dee Adkins lost to Ginky in the final of the 9ball. Are they both "professionals" or just phenomenal regional players? Food for thought of this whole "pro" "amateur" definition thing that never gets solved.

So why was the Derby 9ball race changed from 7 to 9 again?

Yeah, but it will effectively stop the majority of non pros, from upsetting the names, or going deep. I guess shortstops aren't the brightest bunch.

So why was the Derby 9ball race changed from 7 to 9 again?

I don't really care about all those statistics or the times. Sorry. Break is an advantage. That's all. Give each player the same opportunity. Derby doesn't care about time. The scheduling of the matches this year should have made that perfectly clear. One championship one pocket match in the...

So why was the Derby 9ball race changed from 7 to 9 again?

Well, race to 4 would be the way to go. It GUARANTEES both players 2 breaks at the table each, minimum. As it stands right now, guy who wins the flip, or the lag, has an advantage, in one pocket terms. It could go 3-0 with one player breaking one time with the current format. Think about it...

    Oscar Dominguez Does It Again

And who's dime would all these people have gone on?/would they have been paid for going? Seems like a straight economic decision from my point of view if none of them went. Especially if you just wasted who knows how much time attending everything to try and get on the team with little or not...

So why was the Derby 9ball race changed from 7 to 9 again?

There are a lot of things that built this event. And we are talking about over a decade ago. Gambling being one of them. (Alex vs the ghost, Stalev. vs Wetch, T.W. vs Durbin are just a few examples) Cheap entries and buy backs another. Multiple disciplines yet another. But it seems that as far...

So why was the Derby 9ball race changed from 7 to 9 again?

Who reads that? LOL So they killed the 9ball's "anyone can beat anyone in a race to 7" spirit of the tournament that it had at its inception. Good to know. Thanks

So why was the Derby 9ball race changed from 7 to 9 again?

So why was the Derby 9ball race changed from 7 to 9 again? And why weren't the bank pool and one pocket also extended?

Cue Stolen at Derby City Classic

Actually, as long as I've been playing pool, the thing you have to watch out for at a host venue is when you leave your cues in your locked room in the morning hours, thinking it will be safe there. When housekeeping comes, they always have the door open. (Forget if that's a law or not) THAT'S...

    Oscar Dominguez Does It Again

This forum is so funny. If Oscar had taken a forfeit, then you would have had a billion forum members bashing him for winning "like that" Damn man. Guy does a decent thing and people still find a reason to bittch about it? WOW. Sure. Rules are rules and the Derby schedule is already f$&@ed...

When is Dennis gonna learn how to shake hands

When is Dennis gonna learn how to shake hands

Does it really matter? Lol. Apparently, getting bent out of shape when a player doesn't shake the hand of an American, IS cultural. Like seriously. Who gives a F&$@. It's actually more entertaining for me to see someone all salty after a tough match, on the verge of a meltdown. The fact that...
