Brendon Crockett....he played in the US Open I beleive in October? I'm also told he's only been playin about 18months....just turned 14, he really shows promise...loads of talent and seems to have a great head on his shoulders..I was super impressed.
I want 1/2 his action for life......:)

Jam...
Glad you like 'em...I always think of you when I shoot tourneys 'cause I remember you tellin' the story of stayin' up late to post yours....kinda like me now...:)
Btw, this young kid reminds me of Keith, I won't be surprised if he becomes a world beater.
Joe
I'm home from the evening session. Everybody who made it through the day is in the money for tomorrow I think.
Lots of great matches and great players. I think I may have been most impressed by the 14 year old Brendon Crockett. There's a few pics of him here....watchin' him play is like...
Congrats!!!
I was barely able to sneak a shot of you...was pretty crowded in there and tough to move around. Hopefully you'll make the final rounds when it's fewer tables and matches......:)
Good luck tomorrow.
Cya,
Joe
Those kids were in the tourney, one is still in and in the money! He lost but won I think THREE matches in the losers bracket...he's 14 and can really play...was like lookin' into the future!
As for the bar, it appears it's ok...I think since they serve food it's legal for the kids to be...
I thought I'd post a few pictures from the early matches at the Jay Swanson Memorial Tournament at Hollywood Billiards.
I'm going back after dinner and I'll post more but thought I'd get a few up now.
I think there are almost 200 players so I had no chance to get them all and it was so crowded...
over/under
I don't have a dog in the race but I'd set the over under at $750 and take the over....:)
btw, if id does go for a million, will you treat me to a week off as well, I'm soooooooo overworked.

Just like plain jane...
Kev,
I suspect you have a great chance of it feeling like my plain jane. As you know, my plain jane with the stainless joint feels very much like my 1960's Gina with the titlist forearm so I suspect the feel has much to do with Ernie's SS joint and balance, combined...
Rat Pack!!!
Kev,
Yes, I've heard the stories from Ernie about those cues, I'd love to see one myself.
Didn't they have the Spain blanks also? As I understand it Ernie may have only used them on those cues?
Good luck with the splices.

Cue Cost
I have been asked in these threads as well as in many private messages how much my Ginacues cost, especially this one.
Ernie is a friend of mine and I am usually in his shop visiting at least once a week. I don't know if this entitles me to pay more or less than anyone else but I...
My "Plain" Gina...
Thanks to all for the recently renewed interest in my "plain jane" Gina. As some of you may know, I had Ernie make me a super fancy cue prior to this one.
As many have stated, a cue like this one seems a more suitable player than the fancy ones and since my first Gina was a...
bzy,
not sure what material Tad used in that era, but pretty certain its NOT ivory....:) It has endured great over these 25ish years though without so much as a mark....:)
Joe
I don't believe so, I'm pretty certain the joint and butt plate are not, which I think was somewhat customary at that time, as the Martin's it was styled after also were not ivory, as I understand it.
Thanks.
Joe
