Ending this Sunday 2/08, I'm auctioning off a 1969 Burton Spain short splice pool cue forearm blank. My guarantee is simple, 100% satisfaction or return for complete refund. If the buyer feels that their dissatisfaction is due to a misdescribed auction, I refund all the postage as well.

This auction won't disappear suddenly. I don't end auctions early. I don't have items for sale locally. This auction will run to the end. Interested buyers will all have an equal chance to bid and win the auction.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Wow that's a nice one. I didn't know Stroud made cues with Spain blanks, yours is probably a bit rare and looks really pretty. Is that your playing cue or did you reach in the back of the closet to get it out?

Rat Pack

Speaking of the Rat Pack. If anybody out there owns one of the Ginas that Ernie made for each member of the Rat Pack, I would love to hear about/see it.

Thanks again

Kev,

Yes, I've heard the stories from Ernie about those cues, I'd love to see one myself.

Didn't they have the Spain blanks also? As I understand it Ernie may have only used them on those cues?

Good luck with the splices.

Nice

Wow, I like that alot better than Ernies forearms.

Seems like having him make it into a cue would be the nuts!

I'll show you my Gina with a Spain forearm when Ernie is done with it. What I think would be the nuts would be either a Tasc with this forearm or a Hercek.

I know Ernie used Spain forearms to make the Rat Pack cues. He may have made one or two other sticks with these forearms (Ernie struggles to recall the 60s as do I), but as you know, spliced cues aren't necessarily Ernie's thing, and the rest went in a drawer until I rescued them.

Again, if anyone has a Gina Rat Pack cue, I would really love to see it or hear about it.

Just so you know, I've been telling Ernie I want my Spain Gina to feel just like your Plain Jane Plus.

Thanks

Kevin

Just like plain jane...

Kev,

I suspect you have a great chance of it feeling like my plain jane. As you know, my plain jane with the stainless joint feels very much like my 1960's Gina with the titlist forearm so I suspect the feel has much to do with Ernie's SS joint and balance, combined with his construction techniques.

Take care,

Joe

Wow....that's a great idea :D

Yup, I liked that idea myself.

Wish my new Gina was done with my cool old Burton Spain forearm. I hope Ernie matches the butt up pretty good!

rat pack cues

if my memory is correct john wright had dean martin's ginacue listed around 1988-1992. somewhere in there. for his personal likes it had (if my memory serves me right) two ballet slippers, something to denote music, maybe a martini glass and i don't recall what was on the fourth gold window. beautiful cue, though. anybody got pics of that cue?

Kevin -

Would you take the splice to Ernie if I win it?

Hi Ken,

I am 100% sure that Kevin can do that for you. We both are about 15 minutes from Ernies shop.

Russ.......

I really don't want to hijack this thread but maybe someone could take a few mins a send me a pm explaining what the difference is between short and full spliced blanks.

Thanks,
Jim

Wow, that's outrageous. The cocktail glass for sure its a Rat Pack. I think that cue (Dean Martin's) is now in the hands of a TV/Movie star type. The Dean Martin one is the one I'd attach the most value to, although the Sinatra's would probably actually be the most collectible. It's amazing, but I don't know if any of the Rat Pack cues are in the hands of cue collectors, all are with entertainment folks (I think).

Interesting stuff, thanks much. I went to Tates' web site because he has examples of John Wright catalogs from the 1980s, but I didn't see any Rat Pack Ginas there.

Thanks again

Kevin
