Welcome to the forum, Ron. I'm curious about this new place - Million Dollar Billiards. Tell us about it.

Chris Robinson! National Junior Champion 2015, is ready for CHINA!!!

I'd like to see my main man, Chris, do well in China. He's a straight shooter and a super nice fella. Watch for him to be a future star of the game.

    Junior Nationals

Congratulations to Chris. Job well done. Baby Huey, has the local newspaper, the Ventura Star, got wind of Chris' big win? We may be breeding other young talent at Stiix as Spencer and Luke have taken an interest in the game.

Lou Butera Passed Away this Morning :(

"Machine Gun" Lou Butera was one of my favorites to watch when I seriously got into pool. He was different than the others - sharply dressed in solid white, sent the cue ball flying an instant after coming to rest and getting a lot of attention. He gave a wonderful exhibition in San Diego about...

    3C in Phx ?

I don't remember seeing any billiard tables in the rooms I've visited - Jesters, Kolby's and a couple others. If you're up for a little drive, Pockets in Tucson is active with billiards.

    R.I.P. Underdog

Bob's Billiards was on Beach and Ball. Were you thinking of Lucky John's 4 on Orangethorpe? Either way, I'm surprised to hear Underdog spent time at either place.

Does anyone in here remember Leo Newberry??

I didn't know Leo had passed away. He couldn't have been that old. Leo was a real solid player who was able to stop my road partner when we passed through Portland. My partner stiffed him on the last game they played and I told Leo I'll cover it the next time I see him. He seemed OK with it but...

Celebrities from the past and present that are/were big fans of pool / billiards?

Joe Cocker loved to play at the pool room in Santa Barbara. Hardly anyone in the room realized who he was - and he apparently liked it that way.

    Carlsbad, CA

I worked in Carlsbad a few years back. Only found a couple of OK places to play pool. Barbox only.

    Kim Davenport's Stroke

I also remember that comeback Kim made in San Diego. JR had what seemed like a comfortable lead and Kim was chipping away at it. Kim was really focused on the last half of that match. On the last game, Kim thought long and hard after the break, knowing he had to push-out somewhere. He pushes to...

Places to play in Monterey California

Easy Street Billiards is the place to play in Monterey. If you like straight pool, a friendly fella named Danny is always up to play a game. Just be prepared for a tough battle. I think Blue Fin Billiards closed its doors. Fast Eddy's in Capitola is one of my favorites in the area. A...

bars with pool tables las vegas

I don't go out to the Vegas bars very often but the Rum Runner is at the top of my list. At the other end of town, I thought Ranchers was a pretty good place.
