What Is Your Pool-Related Superstition ?

If I'm playing well I hate to break to take a piss. I will continue playing until I'm ready to burst a bladder. I just feel, irrationally, I know, that the changes in me physically as well as mentally of emptying my bladder will somehow alter my level of play.

Mark Twain's take on pool equipment

I find that complaints about the equipment are more often than not sour grapes or sharking . Personally, I will play on any equipment offered without complaint, try to learn the quirks and use them to my advantage. After all, my opponent is playing on the same table. I have won more money on...

Whayt does it mean to 'cinch' the ball?

Simply put: You have an 8B and a 9B left for your run out. The 8B is a high percentage shot but in order to get desirable position on the 9B you risk missing the 8B. So you take the easy shot on the 8B without regard to position on the 9B to "cinch" or make sure you have a shot at the 9B.

Do you tip a TD who also played in the event?

I always tip the TD if I WIN a tourney. But that's strictly local tourneys. Not ten percent. Usually a ten dollar bill. Not enough to influence anybody but just to show appreciation for knowing my name and running a smooth tourney.

2K for a once in a lifetime experience

Catch-22 That's what CATCH-22 is. You can get out of the army if you are crazy. But if you want to get out of the army you can't possibly be crazy.

Things you do off the table that improve your game

One by one, call your main competitors' wives or girlfriends and tell them (anonymously, of course) that their man is messin' with hot girls at the pool hall. It will take some time but it's a lot easier than practicing in order to eliminate competition. :thumbup2:

    chopping

Johnyt, nothing of great import comes to my mind or escapes it either anymore but chopping seems to drag the game down to it's basest level. IMHO
