    US Open hard to watch

I watched the recently posted Accu-Stats match between Jennifer Lee and Viv Villareal from 1999. It was a pleasure, their sportsmanship was refreshing, they didn't labor over any shot, and they were playing on much slower cloth than today. Pool is a rhythm game and it is impossible for me to...

Kielwood shaft the way to go?

That is why you need to get This is exactly right. I requested a 3.9 ounce shaft from Richard Hsu, and it was delivered at 3.91. I did not have to make it longer to make up for lost weight. But, Richard's builds are all custom- -dj

    Relevant Cue Dimensions

I have always wondered about this. I did some research, and IIRC, it had to do with the fact that originally most tips were made in France, I believe. Makes no sense to me, all measurements of a cue should be in the same format- -dj

    CORNERSTONE CUES BE WARE

I bought a Hercek from Bill a number of years ago. I received the cue before I sent him the check. Also bought a Tascarella from him. No issues ever, completely nice guy to me. -dj

    Simonis 860HR Shortage?

Ok, so the rails are different than a Gold Crown and the 30/30 cloth, in my opinion, would definitely be a good choice for you. I had the 8 foot Black Wolf and the installed cloth was less than ideal, as it did not have the Superspeed cushions. -dj

Which model of Brunswick table? There are big differences in the rail setup between a Gold Crown and their other tables- -dj

    Rasson vs Diamond Tables

Bangin Balls Billiards in Vegas has all Rasson tables. I believe it is more like a showroom, they sell Rasson tables: https://banginballzbilliards.com/ -dj

    Rhythm To You're Game...

This is great advice, but the irony is that when you are in dead stroke, you are are not paying attention to any of those things, they are automatic. If I stop to measure or analyze them, I am no longer in the zone. -dj

    Simonis 860HR Shortage?

Well, there is a difference between 860 and 860HR, but the difference for me between the 860HR and the 30/30 is that the 30/30 weave appears tighter, the cloth feels slicker to the touch and it is definitely faster. The color is nearly identical. -dj

    Simonis 860HR Shortage?

Just an update, after two weeks of play, about 3 hours a day, the 30/30 cloth shows absolutely no ball marks whatsoever using Aramith Duramith Tournament balls. The slideyness is gone and my table plays much better than it did with the 860HR. Both cloths have the same specs, 70 wool, 30 nylon...

    Some days...

I have had a lot of cues at one time, had to sell most of them when I was laid off in 2006. I only have two left, and have been playing with the same cue for 7 years now. I still have pictures of all of them- -dj

    Simonis 860HR Shortage?

The new Champ 30/30 cloth on my table is 30% nylon and so far shows no marks at all. The 860 showed all kinds of wear by the rack after a few weeks, but YMMV- -dj

    Simonis 860HR Shortage?

There was a flood in their main manufacturing facility: https://www.simoniscloth.com/flooding/ I just had my table recovered with Championship 30/30. I like it better than the 860HR (which I had before), a little faster and less marks on the cloth. You may want to consider that cloth...
