I have always wondered about this. I did some research, and IIRC, it had to do with the fact that originally most tips were made in France, I believe. Makes no sense to me, all measurements of a cue should be in the same format- -dj

Ok, so the rails are different than a Gold Crown and the 30/30 cloth, in my opinion, would definitely be a good choice for you. I had the 8 foot Black Wolf and the installed cloth was less than ideal, as it did not have the Superspeed cushions. -dj

This is great advice, but the irony is that when you are in dead stroke, you are are not paying attention to any of those things, they are automatic. If I stop to measure or analyze them, I am no longer in the zone. -dj

Well, there is a difference between 860 and 860HR, but the difference for me between the 860HR and the 30/30 is that the 30/30 weave appears tighter, the cloth feels slicker to the touch and it is definitely faster. The color is nearly identical. -dj

Just an update, after two weeks of play, about 3 hours a day, the 30/30 cloth shows absolutely no ball marks whatsoever using Aramith Duramith Tournament balls. The slideyness is gone and my table plays much better than it did with the 860HR. Both cloths have the same specs, 70 wool, 30 nylon...

I have had a lot of cues at one time, had to sell most of them when I was laid off in 2006. I only have two left, and have been playing with the same cue for 7 years now. I still have pictures of all of them- -dj

The new Champ 30/30 cloth on my table is 30% nylon and so far shows no marks at all. The 860 showed all kinds of wear by the rack after a few weeks, but YMMV- -dj
