    What Type of Cue Case?

My 3x4 is the right one for me as an everyday case... saves me the trouble of bringing a larger case (3x6) just to accommodate another cue

Is it ok to clean pool balls or cues with alcohol?

IMO, I'd go for a more "natural" approach/logic... 1) Wood is compatible with water since the tree needs water, which are carried by the sapwood, to nourish itself. 2) If alcohol can sting the human skin, what more with wooden fibers which no longer have the ability to regrow once damaged...

    Woods for cues

+1 on the solid Purple Heart. It may not be that visually appealing especially if it's just a plain jane, but the playability, and the sound, is just awesome! IMO, with this wood, the simpler it gets (less add-ons like inlays), the better it plays

    viattore cues contact info?

Jackson Tan of Viattorre Custom Cues already retired from making cues last June 2007. For the sake of answering your question regarding turnaround time, it used to be around 3-6 months if the list of orders weren't that long, otherwise it would take up to more than a year (my very plain 1-pc...

    AMBOYNA BURL! Unknown maker? Ideas?

If it were a Viattorre, there should have been a "Viattorre" signature. The pin is not the type that Viattorre used to have Some cues from the States (even from the known custom makers) when brought here in the Philippines can also warp just like when cues here from the Philippines or from any...

    Carbon Fiber Cue Case

I remember asking JB if he could make me a carbon fiber tube-style case because of its textile strength & thermo resistance some time in 2007 or 2008. I looked around for some possible carbon fiber suppliers and I estimated the cost of the more flexible sheets to be around $400-600 back then...

THE ONE AND "ONLY" BLACK BOAR oooooooooohhhhhhhhhh

I agree! I'm not into fancy/over-stuffed cues but this is one of the few that I really like. Congratulations on your BB!

Cue Care: How do you maintain the finish on cues?

I think we have to clarify first what kind of FINISH is being used on the cue. I believe anyone would agree that if the cue has an automotive finish, then it should be "treated" with automotive cleaning products. If it has an oil finish, then automotive products may not be suitable for such...

    sterling wave case

My 1st wave case was a 3x6 Orange-Black model which was part of the early batch that was released mid last year during the BCA Expo. When I got it, I quickly sold my Instroke Buffalo because, feature-wise, it surpasses the Instroke, IMO. It's a lot lighter and more compact than an Instroke of...

    If you had $500-$600

I'd get a custom 1-pc solid butt of either Purple Heart or Tulip wood from JUDD since they're known for great playability and they retain their market value pretty well Throw in another $50 & I'd probably get a JT-1 with Efren Reyes's specs for collection purposes since it's the same cue he had...

    Cue Sounds......

It's not really on the brand or maker per se (although, generally, reputable cue makers offer quality woods) but on the kind of wood(s) woods being used if we're talking about "sounds/tones/pitches" given everything else constant (ie, tip, ferrule, shaft, joint materials). This is more...

    Lets talk about Butts

I actually had, and still have, the same sentiments as you do when I was about to have my very 1st custom cue then. That's why for my 1st custom, I preferred it to be more on the "performance" side rather than on the aesthetics. As such, I chose to have a 1pc Purple Heart, which has a very good...

    Stroke or Instroke

I can only give feedback on the instroke as I've owned 3 kinds before: black leather cowboy, brown-black leather cowboy, & buffalo. The leathers on the cowboy are smooth and give a very elegant touch rather than the grainy leathers I've seen on stroke cases (based on pictures). I like the...

What makes the Filipinos SO STRONG!

Stress! If I were to summarize the replies of sputnik, jay h, gunzby, joeyincali, and others in one word, it will be STRESS Stress induces learning. Playing rotation and even 8 ball are harder than 9 or 10 ball. The pressures of winning/losing a bet more than a day's (even 2 weeks) worth of...
