    Cognoscenti

I have a very nice Cognoscenti cue up for grabs. I am selling it for a friend who's father owned it and died not long ago leaving him with a lot of pool cues to deal with. Since the son is not a pool player he asked me to help him with all the cues. His father was a very good friend of mine for...

    the fleece (resurrected!)

Any idea on just when it will open? I was bummed out that it closed in Lake City just a few months before I retired. I only lived maybe 2 miles away!!:frown:

They suck a bit less for pool if I push then as far up my nose as I can...But they still suck! Since...

Getting mad when playing against better players

That may be happening today but that same player you beat up on may get to it and do all the things we have talked about and later on come back and crush you. I have had that happen several times and was thrilled that that guy got it together and made something from his efforts. I had one more...

Getting mad when playing against better players

Never get mad. Get even. Then get at least ONE game ahead and STAY there!! For just table time I'd play someone all night long that can beat me to death!! What a great opportunity to observe, maybe ask questions and learn more stuff, how other better players think during a game. Then you are...

Do you have any pet peeves about a Pool Cue's appearance?

Me? OH YEAH! I sure do! No dice, no playing card motifs no scrimshaw-like stuff, no animal pictures and on and on. I ONLY like more traditional styled cues that are not too heavy with inlays or overly ornate "stuff". I have an Rich Chudy Traditional that was love at first sight. I like most...

    Keep Smaller Tips Rounder

I have one 13.5 mm shaft. I try to keep it the same curvature as an A78x13 Goodyear Polyglas tire.:D I most usually go with the curve of a nickel at 13mm or close to it.

Yes...Moments of brilliance surrounded by hours of terror!!

What model of Huebler is it? Can you post a pic of it?

    Why a new cue?

I don't really collect cues. Not much of a collector of anything really. All my 5 or 6 cues are regular players. I either just fell in love at first sight with them or borrowed one for a few shots and was super impressed and had to have it. A couple I got for almost nothing when someone needed...

Our Bar Rules and Playing System

Here are some simple rules. Easy to remember too. Call the pocket and if you don't make the ball, it's ball in hand. You get good fast or die!!

    Hypothetical 8 Ball Question

And there is the problem. They will learn through the school of hard knocks with any luck if they are all that interested in playing well and knowing what is going on. Just paying their dues like the rest of us did early on. Of course some will play pool for their whole lives only casually and...

    Hypothetical 8 Ball Question

I go with no. Not a legally pocketed 8 ball. By shooting at the strip ball first you are either implying (whether you want to or not) that you are taking the stripes regardless of calling the 8 ball or not or just plain fouling the 8 ball shot. If a player breaks and happens to drop ALL the...

Joe Rogan - "Pro pool players look down on bowlers"

Bowling is cool. You get to basically throw something big and heavy at a bunch of stuff and knock it all down and make lots of noise!

Honest Expectations of a Good Break

Luck is just an abstract concept that we throw good and bad occurrences at that we cannot explain any other way.

    2 More "Mystery" Cues

I know...Not much to work with on either of these cues. Just hoping someone out there happens to be familiar with what they do see of the signature. It's just too worn to see all that well. The "AA" cue like I stated is likely some inexpensive production cue. I really doubt it is from any...
