Although I like my Z-2, I have to agree with you. The reviews don't lie, feedback on L/D predators kinda suck. The sound is another thing I don't like much. But I look at performance over all else, that's why I prefer predator.

Don't go with what we say, you really need to try each one out. At least try a few shots with no chalk, that way you can return to most vendors. Predator, OB and Tiger all offer nice L/D options. But, they all play differently. I prefer the Z-2, but that shouldn't matter much to the next player.

Curses, foiled again! I wonder if Jose intentionally played into that side of the 9. With the 9 being a favorable distance off the rail, I think that would be easier than threading perfectly between the 8 and 9. I did try this on my gc table, and the slow roll works. I have to admit though...

This is one of those outs that looks easy, but isn't. I would concentrate on pocketing the 7 softly in the side, no english. Even if I end up on the wrong side of the 8, I'd rather try to work with that, as opposed to trying something fancy with the 7.

I didn't like that because the cue ball angle would change as it comes off the rail. The angle would close instead of opening up. So instead of hitting or falling below the 8, it could get stuck behind the 8 or 9. I'm looking at the diagram again, and I like the "bump" spot best. The "best...

Back cut the 1 ball in corner softly, using center left spin. Cue ball spins off rail short of side pocket, and is headed to bump or land below 8 ball.

I vote for what pt109 just said....good safe there. Just that, its tough to tell from the pic if that's possible. Looks tough to avoid the corner pocket point/tit.

In 9 ball if the 9 drops early due to luck, the lucky shooter wins. To play call 9 would involve different, varying rule sets. It's like 8 ball, its best to agree on basic rules before the game. (The way I've seen it played, the shooter keeps shooting if he lucks the 9 in.)

I'd say if I just need to make a cut shot and I miss it, its probably an aiming problem, or I didn't account for throw. If theres English involved and I miss, likelihood of stroke error goes up.

Only the 9 ball can win on the break, no exceptions. Not saying other variations don't exist, but none that I've seen.
