    Age vs Experience

I'm surprised stamina hasn't been mentioned very often. When I was 60, I could play nonstop pool all night and watch the sun rise and still was ready for more (my opponents seemed to always have to go "home". Now, at age 70, I am starting to tucker out after 6 or 8 racks. I fully understand...

Benefits of joining an APA league?

Because I had forever heard that one could get their skill level lowered by the League Operator if ever a medical emergency arose preventing one from being able to play equitable to their current skill level. It just wasn't so. No disrespect taken.

How to get chalk out of a cue case?

Bingo. Somebody finally got it right!

Benefits of joining an APA league?

My League Operator told me that I had to present them with a note/letter from my doctor saying I had issues with performing day-to-day activities before they would consider lowering my skill level. This was shortly after my stroke. I don't have issues with day-to-day activities, I just have...

Benefits of joining an APA league?

As a type 2 diabetic with heart problems (10 prescription pills daily), I no longer drink alcohol. My wife and I eat out on league nights before heading to the bar to play pool, so we don't buy food at the bar. What we do is take a bottle of Coke Zero (since the bar doesn't have it) and a Yeti...

    Why not Pinegar?

Stronger...maybe, but not strong enough. My guess is that the European teams will come out on top for at least the next 10 years, if not longer. They simply have too many very young world-class players.

how are ya'll doing in league ?

Monday August 7, 2023 is a day that will live in infamy (just throwin' a little Franklin Roosevelt on y'all). It is the last day I will be on an APA league team (or any team for that matter). Since suffering a stroke 18 months ago and with my other physical ailments hindering my ability to shoot...

Earl NEVER acts like a child! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha. I almost died there.

    Why not Pinegar?

There was a player on Team USA last year that exactly fits this very description. And Matchroom wanted him on the team for this very reason. (my opinion).

Final Word on How to Store Cues

I can say the same thing about my cues with the exception that I store my cues cased in a vertical position, as I'm sure literally thousands of others could probably attest to. I even have a 30" butt that I had a custom cuemaker build from a solid piece of wood (not cored). He was hesitant to...

    Why not Pinegar?

Probably fine if he could be convinced to not chalk his cue six or seven times between each shot. LOL

    Dennis Orcollo v Fedor Gorst (9 Ball/ Race to 90) July 30-August 1

He just stated in post #60 that he hits balls around under two hours a month, and you're wolfing at HIM for action? I use rod and reels when I go fishing.

Doesn't the American team get to pick a random player for the fifth spot or am I just having a brain fart?

    Why not Pinegar?

He pretty much gotten crushed by any European he's played. Not all, but most. He's not even in the top 100 Fargo ratings. Josh Roberts would be a better choice. I even like Jeremy Seaman better then Wolford. Just my opinion.

    Why not Pinegar?

The only player I picked was Pinegar. I mentioned the others only as a reference to some who couldn't hold up to the pressure in past Mosconi Cups.
  18. Maniac

    Why not Pinegar?

With the Mosconi Cup being in London this year, I (IMHO) think it would be wise for the USA team to have some newer players on the team that will not fold up in the past (Dechaine, Bergman, Reinhold for example) under the intense pressure the drunk and boisterous English crowds will surely...

    Dennis Orcollo v Fedor Gorst (9 Ball/ Race to 90) July 30-August 1

The Russian invasion of Ukraine would be a much better way to describe it. The way you put it could lead some to believe that the Ukrainians were the aggressors.

You have basically sounded the death knell for American pool players, SVB included.
