Are we seeing the end of wood cues?

No because maple is stiffer, harder and stronger than ash…it is also denser/heavier than ash. The ball is smaller so the choice for ash is actually beneficial in regards to deflection…it’s not as stiff but the conical taper solves that, it’s lighter weight will help to reduce end mass and make...

Are we seeing the end of wood cues?

Sorry man but this is totally false and people keep floating those comments around like it’s true 😂 Sugar Maple is roughly 10% harder, stiffer, and stronger than White Ash. Meaning it’s got a higher janka rating, higher modulus of elasticity and a higher crushing strength. There’s tons of...

Could some one explain aiming with shadows

You just know….if a guy knows. If he knows what he's doing and why and if he can make it come off. and he KNOWS... just feels... when to let it go and how much. Cause he's got everything workin' for 'im: timing, touch. It's a great feeling, boy, it's a real great feeling when you're right and...

Could some one explain aiming with shadows

I’m doing well my friend. Works been great, wonderful team of fellas I work with out there! And I rebuilt a 79 Brunswick prestige 9’ they had out there. Artemis intercontinental 66 cushion, Simonis 860hr….subrails extended, 4” pocket 140° corners. Eats balls nicely, banks great and is quick...

Could some one explain aiming with shadows

No matter how a light is applied to a sphere…it goes around it in the same fashion. The shadow can be stretched out but where it actually exits the bottom of the ball is going to be in the same place as you look objectively at it from diff positions. Even if it’s not centered.

    Backhand Aiming

The quantity of vibration in the cue during impact changes from diff grip tensions and diff grip positions on the cues butt…. More vibration/more movement between the crest and trough of the wave on the cue is less energy transferred to the hit. The bending of the shaft during impact does...

Are we seeing the end of wood cues?

CF/spliced/laminated/torrified shafts all came into being to cut production overhead losses due to culling and the lower overall quality of the better grades of maple to produce a quality shaft. The splicing and laminating tech gave the ability to reduce overall stresses, separate or average...

    Backhand Aiming

This is all correlation without causation. By your comments the cue would impart more spin if it were flying through the air being held by nothing during impact with the cb…..which is Completely false. Now what a pendulum with a light grip can do is to keep positive acceleration growth an...

    leather tips and PETA/vegans...?

I wonder what’s gonna happen when science finds out plants feel pain, and have their own language of communication. Sunning your butthole and mountain air have no caloric value for what its worth. 🤣

    leather tips and PETA/vegans...?

How’s he making assumptions? He specifically said vegan, you said you are vegetarian…and everything you outlined made it clear your not a vegan only a vegetarian. Color me confused lol 😂

Buying in bulk….it’s the boomer way! 😂 …now I know your pulling my leg about all the sanding filing and dicking around that you do! Fran….the comment wasn’t a sleight against the uncircumcised tip…it’s totally natural and no one should feel bad for liking them exactly how the good lord made...

    Tip shape

The tip on the left has a nice nickel radius and a good shoulder The tip on the right has the same nickel radius on the top 2/3 of the radius above the “shoulder”….then it dives down the last 1/3 of the arc and rolls the radius OVER the shoulder…. The smaller the radius the more important it...

    CB Path vs Stroke

Merely a result of their habitual deceleration and bunt stroking or that rubbery jab like delivery then snatching it in reverse pretty much instantly after impact. All that leads to inaccurate tip placement on the cb. Even when this does make tip contact as desired the resulting stroke is...

    Doc Frye and Balabushka connection

Very doubtful being that Pete Tascarella bought his “shop” material and equipment and all not long after George passed from George’s wife. The only thing he didn’t take was some wood, Pete Sr. got all the unfinished blanks and whatnot. The ring at the A joint is very bushka like fwiw. Would...

    Doc Frye and Balabushka connection

Doc used Pennie’s never heard of George using them….George died in 1975 and his last years of making cues they were his most fancy. The post is confusing I’d say it’s a Frye and not a balabushka….I’d be skeptical with the cue because the description is wrong regardless of wether doc or George...
