pinned ferrules if you ever get to work on the older vikings they used this same type pinned and blocked ferrule,not ever seen many but they are out there.

what are most using for brass inserts,i've had a few quick releases that have not held(mine and others).i think most is due to being left in car in extreme heat,and the lack of more threads on the insert.thx

stinger the stinger tip is phenolic and has a tenon about 5in. long that runs back thru the ferrule and into the shaft.the phenolic is all one piece,most just cut the tip off flush with the ferrule and install a different tip.

lathe there was an east coast cues,the guy i knew was older and came to some of the moose tourneys here in va..not sure what his name was and never seen any of his work and i always thought that east coast cues was out of n.c..i worked a tourney in northern n.c. last year and he was there playing.

curly maple shaft yes,there are several cuemakers that can make you a curly maple shaft,the playability and weight are similar to non curly maple.i have made several the last couple of years with no issues.
