If the price difference is reasonable, I always prefer to buy locally and support local jobs in any way I can.....especially when there is a service component.... With that being said, if the local room has a new cue I want at $500, and I can get the same new cue online from a reputable seller...

Some of the most fun I've had playing pool is barbox 8ball, partners, playing for $5 or a beer a stick.....grab a house cue, use an open bridge, natural positions, and just have fun.....you meet some nice people, and if you joke around and avoid running the table, most people will chat you up...

The time I start to slow down and overthink is about the same time I might as well get ready for the losers bracket..... The only time I've found it's better for me to take a little more time is playing one-pocket.....in 9, 10, 8, 14.1 and banks, I always do better if I just trust my instincts...

Thanks for all the PM's and great comments....for the record, not buying anything anytime soon, I just like to research and know what is out there....besides, you never know when you might find that $200 table somebody just has to get rid of :wink: I don't even have a place to put it right...

IMHO, buy him out with the $265 and be done with it.....among 5 people, that is $50 a piece.....per his agreement, he get's no jacket or any future monies of any kind.......keep it simple, write it down, and get the LO involved so everybody is on the same page....put it behind you and good luck...

I'm flexible.....I'm more of an old school, shake hands type of guy, but if my opponent isn't, no biggie....if it's someone new, I like to meet them, shake hands before the match, extend a courtesy "good luck" before the match, get it awwwn, and then shake hands afterwards....

Agreed.... Some people think cheating is a badge of honor.....I don't get it.....guess I'm just a sucker :p
