    Have to ask this question.

I've been working with variations on this type of stroke for the last several months. A few attempts with threads seem doomed in the main forum. Maybe SmoothStroke can weigh in here and get a conversation going with his experience on the subject. Bill (3RAILKICK) appears to be describing a lot...

    Another aiming system C2CP&P

LAMas, I'll try this out and see what happens. I'm still using your CP2CP with a pivot, although it's a lot of work. I've also adapted to inside and outside spin with BHE before the shot. When I'm not hitting them too good, I can always count on it to get me there. Best, Mike

Eye Alignment / Sighting Device - Home Made

Most players need the other eye to see something to get to their correct alignment. I might be misunderstanding your point, but I think we're talking about establishing an alignment using whichever eye or combination of the eyes that establishes a straight line. I'm very right eye dominant in...

    Mirror training aid

I found it to be better than video to establish my vision center. The camera has a dominant eye and doesn't blend what both eyes see. Best, Mike

    Mirror training aid

I received my Cue Training Aid, today. It was around 30 bucks. It's not a glass mirror and it's a little flexible. You don't have to worry about it being too flimsy, yet it has a mirror finish to reflect images pretty well. I lined up the cue stick and noticed right away that it was quite a bit...

Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

I like the thought of accelerating on most shots. It commits my stroke to be deliberate and not let any doubt change its direction at the last moment. I don't worry about inconsistency or deceleration. My thought is to accomplish what I started as the cue moves forward. Best, Mike

Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

This seems to be true for many sports and games. A player begins learning to play by naturally holding the racket, club, stick, etc. and relearns the correct way as they become more serious about improvement. Being naturally comfortable rarely sends a player on the right path unless they're...

Correction: balls do "rattle" in my pockets, but they don't "wobble"

I have 4 inch pockets and the balls get rejected unless they're hit well. BTW, didn't see your first thread. :) Best, Mike

Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

I guess one post is the answer. Not bad...despite some of the usual suspects being banned. Best, Mike

    10-Ball Rule... What is it?

This pretty much sums up my feelings on the game. The only time I play ten ball is when the table is breaking too easy and adding a ball to the rack. I still play the game like I play nine ball. I can't deal with having the incoming player giving a shot back because they got a bad leave. It's...

Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

Dear Mr. Blowhard , Your OP about the cue ball being a mirrored reflection of the object ball makes sense when I use a contact point to contact point alignment. I can target the contact point on the object ball with TOI and no noticeable adjustment. I can't get the same results with TOO...

You know you're addicted to pool when....

...you quit hanging with your old friends and look for new ones because the old ones like to party at places that don't have a pool table. ...you go to lunch, shoot a few, look up at the clock and it's 3 pm. ...can't sleep when you've discovered what you've been doing wrong for ten years...

    Pool Halls in North Chicago

Is the basketball court still there? I spent many summers playing there in pickup games. That, and Navy Pier had fierce comp. Pros even stopped by and played occasionally. Best, Mike

    Mirror training aid

I just bought one. I going to set it on the rail behind an object ball and line it up to a contact point or fraction. I'd also like to see if I'm moving off line as I get down on the shot. Thanks, Bob! Best, Mike

Pool's Deepest Level of Competition - Learning From Defeat, and Our Own Negativity

I was watching a stream with Karen Corr and Ga Young Kim playing a race to seven a couple of years ago. Ga Young was on fire and ran out from everywhere, leaving Karen locked up when she got to the table. About the fifth or sixth rack, Karen got her first shot. She was frozen to the short rail...

Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

I see what you did there. Now there's more than one of you for your fan club to follow...or more targets for your other "fan club". :D How thoughtful! Best, Mike

    Gender Inequality (?)

I took a hiatus form the game for about twenty years. When I got back, the first things I noticed were the faster cloth, live rails, and balls that bounced around more. I hit a stop shot on a Diamond bar box and drew the cue ball back a couple of feet. This change was an equalizer...
