Comments and Questions on the Harriman 280

Exactly. You're hitting it too thick because the cue ball is squirting in but not swerving the amount you get when shooting it high. To find out how much the cue ball squirts when shooting a shot like that, set up an object ball on the spot and the cue ball straight down table at the same...

    8 players at Grady's event??

Just wondering what "tournament expenses" a room owner has. Is he paying the tournament to come in? Is he paying someone to run the tournament? Perhaps referees? Is it potential foregone income from sales of table time? Is it the cost of electricity and overhead? Maybe there are promotional...

. Seems to me that with high english the cue ball swerves more, and cancels out the squirt more, as in a masse shot, whereas the low english slides the cue ball more, and it doesn't curve as much going over the cloth. Not sure, just a guesstimate. Flex

    Attention Meucci owners!!

I have a Black-dot shaft that has a crack in it up under the collar. It's visible on the outside of the shaft, and can also be seen when the shaft is off a cue and held in the hand and looking at the facing. It looks to be about an inch long. It sometimes makes a funny sound when shooting. Is...

    8 players at Grady's event??

Dear Professor, I'm sorry the field at your event wasn't what you had hoped to attract. A question, if you permit: do you sincerely believe your personal comments about the promoters of other events (that took place at the same time or around your event's time) were warranted? As someone (who...

Wrap on cue = better stroke?

There have been only a few irish linen wrapped cues that I liked as far as feel goes. One was on a friend's Meucci; the wrap was not sprayed over, it was raw and was plenty rough, and allowed for the definite sensation that you were in control with that surface. No real danger of the cue...

Ever seen or made a stippled stack leather wrap?

No go As promised, here's my assessment. It looks like a bombed out war zone. Couldn't figure out a way to make it look good; maybe someone else with superior skills can come up with something. It not only doesn't look good, it feels terrible. Scratch that one off. Flex

    balls frozen...what to do?

My suggestion is this: before you play someone for anything significant, be sure you and your opponent are clear as to what is ok and what isn't... All those conflicting rules won't resolve your particular problem. Agree to what the rules are before starting. Flex

    coming back

Lo and behold, I found a bottle of Bulleit. How does one pronounce that name? It's plenty good.... Can't say how it compares to Bookers, as I don't have any on hand test one against the other, but it sure is nice... Found it in Arlington, VA.... Flex
