    Break Balls and Cueing

    1. Yes in my case. I have had the draw angle numerous time and drawn the cue ball off the rack and into the corner packet because I hit the bottom of the ball. 2. Yes, top two balls with draw almost always scratchs in my case, bottom two balls draw is ok, cue ball can be controlled with the...

    Break Balls and Cueing

When I started paying attention to where the cue ball contacts the rack my game went up a notch or two. As sausage pointed out, stroke has a lot to do with it. WIth a stroke like John's you can apply the rules of Sigel more often because he can force the cue ball to do what he wants. If it's a...

I was under the impression that the video had to be posted for viewing by midnight eastern time. I read Mike's post about running 82 at about 11:15 my time, I assumed he was to late because the video wasn't up by the specified time, but I decided to take a few more attemps just in case. I ran...

My 72 ball run started from a breakshot. My 77 started after I missed a ball at 32.

Thanks Jesse. I use a Panasonic MiniDV camera. With a MiniDV you can hook it up straight to your computer with a firewire and record thru Windows Movie Maker. Theres no tape in the camera and I keep it plugged into the wall so no worry that the battery will go dead during a run.

Thanks. Nothing special about the 72, had to scramble a little, the 77 was a little more textbook. You are going to have to get away from that dial-up. lol

Here's the link to the 72. http://vimeo.com/13627719 I followed it up with a 77 but the run started after I missed a side pocket shot at 32. I continued from there, I don't know if that counts. Uploading it now. Will try again but I usually don't have 3 large runs in a day.

    An ugly 41

Any kind of 41 on a Diamond is a good run. You are a very good shot maker. One mistake in shot selection at 11:30 got you off track. The ball you chose to shoot led to knocking the only breakball you had into the rail and you still did not get a real good shot after that. Nice job on getting...

    50 vs 100

That would be fine but I don't have the data. I only save video of 50+. To establish the difficulty of 50 than you would have to document all runs over 25 for a period of time. But if I had to guess I would say its probably about 5 times harder to run 50 than it is to run 25. Assuming 50 to...

    50 vs 100

I'm just trying to illustrate the difference in difficulty between 50 and 100. If it were somebody like John who has been over 200 numerous times I would use 100 to 200.

    50 vs 100

Very impressive and informative post. Your numbers for myself are fairly accurate as far as attempts, some days less some days more. The regularity of a 50 ball run 22 months ago was probably once every 2 or 3 weeks. Now if a take 20 innings a day I will more than likely run 50+ on that day...

Very well said. You touched on all the key points. I believe squared was the word he used. :) Your turn next to post 100.

    Vacation Day #2 - 44 Ball Run W/Video

The last 5 balls of the rack are the most important. If I start over every time, I lose out on that pattern play at the end of the rack. Starting with breakball in hand is like just breaking them up like an 8 ball break. You are more than likely not going to miss a ball in hand breakshot.
