I had done a test with a Lepro, everest and hercules with virtually no difference. I had used 10 strokes of draw and 10 strokes of follow on each tip with a 12.5mm shaft and the cue ball ended up in the same area. Hercules was a hard, everest was medium and the Lepro was Lepro.
My custom cue...
Well if that's the case I wonder how the shaft hardness, taper, ferrulles and tips compare to each other to create LD shaft. Shafts could be tested and sent with a specification chart that way you would know its performance ability.
Kinda like a dyno run, wow talking about a new marketing frenzy.
I have everest and been using them for years and yes 3/4 to 1/2 tip plays great and you can jump balls if you have a firm shaft. Hercules are nearly identical in play.
You going to take a ruler to the pool table? learning your cue will take care of all that. Way too many variables, could do that test again with different shafts and tips and get different results
I have a friend who bought out a bunch of pool tables and accessories at an auction.
He has all kins of table cloths, rail cloths, leather pocket, brunswick table legs, racks, glues, table cleaners.......etc. Could get stuff cheap!
Worst playing cue I've purchased was a sneaky 5280
Best playing cue I have owned or still own is a John Davis full splice I have really learned that cue.
Got a Gilbert JB and it's JAM UP! also, I can keep the cue ball in the middle area of the table 80 percent of the time, makes a big...
Jimmy King is still playing and that mouth never shuts up, everyone in a tournament wants to kill him. Watched him get snatched outside the other week, didn't go see what happened and really didn't care.
A real player can adjust in a reasonable amount of time, and more and more pool halls and tournaments will be getting these so play on them when you can. when you learn the tables you can work your stroke all you want.
