    spot shot question.

Jay makes a good point here... We use to play ring games where if the 9-ball went in before its turn, it was an "extra" and everyone paid the player who made it...it was then respotted at the middle diamond on the bottom rail...a routine shot was a spot shot on the 8 or 7-ball from the...

Seminole Pro Tour- Which would you go to and why?

The Hard Rock Hollywood looks like a good time to make an appearance...maybe take some vacation time to visit sunny south Florida...room rates look pretty steep...do players get a decent discount?

    The Geezer Thread

Maybe we can start an (semi?) annual tradition... Dave Uwate says, "It better not be a MEMORIAL tournament Mike. That doesn't sound too good to me." I thought of that later...was going to change it...but it does have a certain ring to it...like it can last a long time lol... Smorg says, "I...

    The Geezer Thread

Guess I belong in this thread... I'm 60 and still kicking...had a concern about prostate and colon issues but they checked out okay. Have to watch the sugar level and definitely have to shed some pounds that I don't where they came from lol. I work for a Meals on Wheels organization and it...

What is the best name in pool balls ...

I like classic things... I own a Gold Crown I and so I use Brunswick Centennials...anything else just wouldn't 'fit'...although I do experiment with different cue balls...

    Racking/Spotting Etiquette??

Here's one for 14.1 break balls... I used to play straight pool with a man that...if I had the 9-ball next to the pack for a break shot...he would place the 1- ball as close to it as possible...or for instance if I had the 7-ball break shot, he would place the 15-ball near it...and then tell me...

Here's one for Bluepepper (and anyone else)

I'll take the 14, 3, 4... I like to pick off a few blueberries here...the 14 and 3-balls...come up from behind the pack with the 4-ball...create a few break ball opportunities...all the while having insurance balls to the corner in the unlikely case of not getting a good spread with little...

Getting better at Long, straight in shots.

Here's my guess... If you miss the straight in shot consistently...you're probably hitting it too hard. And don't forget the best advice - practice, practice, practice... Mike

What's most important when playing someone way better than you?

A few ways to look at this... Don't play a better player for money. If you are playing better players in tournaments just try your best to win the matches. If you win it's a feather in your cap. If you lose just hope you gave it your best shot...if not work on that...and maybe next time...

    Book Repair?

Be careful... I'm reminded of the television show 'Antique Auction'...where a person brings in a piece of furniture...which they had repaired...and the appraiser tells them that if they didn't try to repair it then it would be worth $50,000...but since they ruined its antique integrity then...

Unique Shots And How To Make Them.

You can do it too... I said that Doc could do 50 spot shots like opening a can of peas after an hour instruction...he already has done 27...and I guarantee that I can take one hour of someone's time who has never picked up a cue and after two hours...maybe one...will do 25 spot shots in a...

Unique Shots And How To Make Them.

I wish I could get more technical... and tell you exactly what angles the system is in play for...but obviously a straight in shot is not in range...nor is a razor thin cut...but you can use the system as a gauge...and adjust... and these bank shots are no-brainers...
