    This is better addressed in a PM. The phenolic upgrade means it is an appearance / cost upgrade. Look at the joint pic. The phenolic wraps around stainless just like his ivory joints.

    Standard joint is stainless steel. A compression fit is when the shaft pilot slightly squeezes into the joint to make an extremely tight and solid connection. The Tascarellas are some of the very best at this technique.
