    What would you do?

Well, this should be interesting. What if I insist I fouled? Is it not a foul?

    Schon Buska cues

If they're made by Schon, they're nice cues. Just IMO...

It's a clever paradox which you missed. :frown:

    Do drunks rule pool?

In two of the nicest rooms in my area, the owners rarely show their face. One has a "manager" and the other relies on the bartenders to make day to day management decisions. Neither works very well. My dream establishment is a large room with both 9' and 7' tables, waitresses that work the room...

    Ohh the evil APA!!!

Good post, Scott. The thing I like about local leagues is that the money stays in the community. Since I'm not a big fan of Vegas anyway, that's not much of a draw to me.

    Meucci: Throw Vs Deflection

That's the design I saw on the Meucci Cameo but I don't think the tenon was actually threaded. It just had concentric circles cut in the tenon. I suppose to help with glue bonding. In the case of the one I repaired, the factory had failed to use any glue.

    Meucci: Throw Vs Deflection

The Cameo has the tapered tenon. But the older ones don't. Most of the ones I've repaired had the oversized tenon with a thin walled slip on ferrule. Makes for a nice hit but they have a tendency to split due to the thin wall.

    Meucci: Throw Vs Deflection

To each their own, I guess. But that's not been my experience. I just sold a Meucci Original that had been refinished and looked like new. I put a Moori III on it and it hit great. Absolutely straight and solid. Didn't really want to sell it but I made a nice profit. Recently repaired a fairly...

    Follow or draw

Not for me. I can control follow much more accurately. Guess it's an individual thing.

    Meucci: Throw Vs Deflection

I've seen some pretty decent deals for Meucci Originals on eBay lately. If you catch one at the right price in good shape, you'll have a nice cue. Send it to Mike Erwin for a refinish and it will turn heads. The new Meucci's, not so much...

    What would you do?

I would never call the ball frozen after the hit. That's just wrong. If I thought the ball was frozen when my opponent is shooting, I will ask before he shoots. When I'm shooting and it's frozen, I make sure the cue ball hits a rail after the hit. It's not necessary for my opponent to call it...

    Ohh the evil APA!!!

I know I frequently gripe about the APA but I think leagues are good for pool. My biggest issue with the APA is I think the national organization should run it more like a franchise and enforce consistent rules and consistent behavior from their LO's. Just IMO. Good post!

    Butt Diameter in Cue Descriptions??

I agree. Some Philippine cues have a smaller butt diameter. Feels a little funky to me.

    What would you do?

No. I believe in honesty and ethics. And if my opponent cheats and the situation comes up again, I still don't shoot it. I don't believe in situational ethics.
  18. OneIron

    What would you do?

If it was touching the rail, it was frozen. Calling it or not doesn't change reality.

    APA question

I didn't know that. Doesn't that make it unfair when players from weaker areas play players from stronger areas in the national events? I don't understand how players can effectively compete in national events using local skill levels. Why would the APA not simply use the same Equalizer system...

    APA question

I was under the impression that your handicap is computed by the Equalizer System, making it a national handicap. Doesn't matter where you play.
