    Table Leveling Standards

I have heard a lot of talk about the way ASE mechanics have standards. ASE certification has almost zero to do with how competent an auto mechanic is. There are however standards that must be met in procedures for mechanical set up of assemblies. One differential may require 8 to 16 thou of...

    Table Leveling Standards

When I level slate for a table that will have Simonis 860 installed my Satrrett level must not read more than one graduation from level. More than one graduation = the balls roll off. One graduation = .005" Standard for Simonis 860 = .005"

whats wrong with pool yada yada etc

I dont know that there will ever be enough money in pool to pay pros players well. After watching Irving Cranes interview on Freddy the Beards site I found it interesting that Crane had to sell Cadillacs along side playing pool to support his family. Pool was in MUCH better shape back then. I...

How Much to Stretch Granito M?

Mark the head and foot stretch on the next table you do and let me know if you can get 2 3/4 there too. Im curious Ill be honest. When I marked the cloth on the 3 sides for stretch I can make the opposite side but not the head and foot. I pulled the skin off my knuckles and dripped sweat from...

How Much to Stretch Granito M?

Are you marking the cloth the length of the head and foot also and getting 2 3/4" stretch at the ends too? Or are you just marking the side and corners 2 3/4" and pulling like hell to the ends?

All 3 days. Me talking to Duane in a pic you took... I didnt ask to recover these tables. The league players are pissed at how much they suck. Several league players DEMANDED the bar owner have me work on his tables. The bar owner WANTS to have the BEST tables in town. I'm just asking whats...

    Valley table recovery $ question

Hello, I attended Gleans class in Alsip and learned a lot. Since then I helped a friend recover two Dynamo tables he has at his house for practice. Last night I replaced bed cloth (no rails yet) on the worst table at my home league bar. I was very happy with the results, I just need to know what...

Very nice JW you have there. Im a sucker for barbells and traditional styled cues. What difference do you notice between this refinish and a refinish done by Scott Sherbine?

    Gold Crown 4 vs. Diamond

Really old Diamonds, I'm not sure of the exact years, have rails that are a little high. Diamond has corrected the problem. Correct cushion height is 1 7/16 Diamond hand wrote the serial # in fat black marker on every wooden part of the table except the legs and frame. Newer tables are stamped.

    Gold Crown 4 vs. Diamond

One of the nicest things about the design of the Diamond I dont hear discussed much is that the long rails are one piece and the way the rails join to each other in the corners. Diamond rails have biscuits and dowels to insure 90deg alignment. They cannot be assembled incorrectly. Gold crown...

    The Chinese are coming ...

I have a different way to look at this situation. Yes China sells cheep cues. Yes their quality is improving.... ...but I also believe China is well into its own Industrial Revolution. http://www.scenic-valleyrr.com/steam.html This is a link to a Chinese built steam locomotive operating at a...

Looking for any and all Runde Series Schon cues.

I did respond to your message. Show your "serious" collectors, that you mentioned in the PM, the pics and make a serious offer. I'm not trying to be rude, but what part of "make me an offer" is everyone having trouble understanding? If I cant get what I believe they are worth they will continue...
