"Hit" of overlength (30") Predator shafts

I dont personally feel that much of a difference with the same shaft in 29" and 30". I had Tiger ultra LD shafts in both lengths and they played exactly the same. 314'3 is a pretty rigid, stiff shaft anyway so you are safe even if it was a tiny bit more flexible. I'd say go for it, I have been...

    Playing shape around obstacles

Nice to see I'm not the only one with positional issues caused by a dog every now and then  I have recently succesfully trained our pupper to sleep under the table when I'm practicing alone or playing with my significant other and to stay in the other room when playing with other people...

    Broken Revo

I hate to see so many people bashing down on Predator because someone forcefully beat one of their shafts in two. They make good cues and are the leader when it comes to shaft technology in my opinion. Their Revo shaft is a new concept in the pool world and it has been taken surprisingly well by...

    G10 Ferrule?

I'd get a ferrule made purely for playing cues if you hsve regular ferrule / tenon setup. There is no need in my opinion for the super strong and heavy materials like G10. Juma and Tomahawk are my personal favourites. LBM is a bit heavier but its also used a lot by cuemakers  What do you...

    Thin CA works best

This reminds me of a work related accident that happened about two years back. I was cleaning up some welds at work with an angle grinder with a Vision flap disc and my glove got sucked in between the disc and the cover around it. The grinder took away the nail from my finger and tore up the...

Needing opinions on Schmelke laminated shaft!

Thanks for keeping us up to date with your thoughts on the shaft  May I ask for a few pictures of the shaft? I'm curious how neat Schmelke has been able to make their glue lines and to see what their shafy wood flooks like. Their prices are great, hoping to see adequate quality aswell so...

    How to break a slump

^ Well said Tin Man  Being in a slump every now and then is a part of the game, any game. Humans just cant perform 100% at their best 100% of the time. Accept it, work on it and get over it. Eventually you will find your better game again and then it will come back a little. When I'm...

Break Cue Tip: Phenolic vs. Leather

^ I had a BK3 with a White Diamond for quite some time, they work brilliantly together. Breaks like a beast and jumps like a rabbit. Currently have a BK2 with a Taom, been breaking well with it aswell  I find benefits to both type of tips for breaking and I would be happy with either.

Thinking of going with a Mezz Kai, Yes or no

Please share your thoughts on the Kai when you receive it and get a little tabletime in with it  They sure do look nice. Congrats on a new cue

Simple cue designs you love. Woods and simple ring work.

    Your favorite playing cue's stats?

Weight: Around 19.5oz Length: 60" Shaft: Something around the deflection of an old 314 shaft, 3/4" ferrule and a longish pro taper. Tip diameter and hardness: 12.5mm, Milkdud Joint: I have grown to like big pins, Radial has been good in my case  Not too picky about collar material...

Dennis Searing is making tips now

Installed a medium a while back, here are some pics from the install :) Prepped the tip with Loctite 401. Installed tip. I wont go to spefics yet as to how they play, I need more hours with it and maybe even a harder version of them. Good quality tips so far though. They have a...

    New diamond just because?

If you have the space to get a 9 foot Diamond, get one. If not, the 8' diamond would be my choice. I find 7' tables a bit cramped but still like playing on them. Trust me on this one, I upgraded to a Diamond a year ago and have zero regrets about it even though it is a 7' for the lack of space :)

WTB: Predator 314 30", any joint will do. Also radial 314'2/3 30"

I'm looking for a precat 314 shaft in 30". Must be straight and in good condition, 12.5mm+ at the ferrule and in original shape. Willing to pay good $ if I find a good one  Feel free to offer 30" 314'2 or 314'3 aswell if you have one with a Radial joint. Same condition apply, straight...

Chalk test, pictures and thoughts on different chalks.

I tested all the chalks that I have on hand today and here are the test variables and results: I used a familiar chalk to get a grip how far off I am able to hit the CB while still maintaining a consistent path for the CB to follow. I then placed my notes in a spot where I had a benchmark to...

Need Guidance for First Cue + Tip Purchase

You know there are other really good soft tips out there that are more user friendly than Kamui blacks :embarrassed2: Zan Premium soft is a really good soft tip that requires very little maintenance or scuffing as it doesnt glaze over as fast Kamui black tends to. Even the Kamui original (brown...
