    Diamond Smart Tables achilles heel

FYI, DIAMOND drove down from Indiana and fixed it with a new "box" that the cue ball is kicked into. Took less than 10 minutes.

    Diamond Smart Tables achilles heel

Answer thanks to Glen OK, here it is. The factory put a 7-foot return in an 8-foot table ergo the gap. It works 99 times out of a 100 but when it jams its jams real good. That's how an object ball "jumped the curb" and wound up in the bottom of the table like a Valley. Must have been Friday...

Saw that but that table doesn't jam the cue ball.

    Diamond Smart Tables achilles heel

The table I'm talking about is a brand new 8-footer (almost a year now). Balls will occasionally get jammed up in a pile against the cue ball just past the sensor. Its as if the solenoid is not kicking the cue ball out fast enough and it locks up in a space between the chute to the cue ball...

    Diamond Smart Tables achilles heel

New Lesson I just got a new Smart Table lesson ... a ball did not return. A search of the cue ball return, the rack slot and inspection port could not find the ball. Opened the sensor door and still no ball. Got the creeper out and went under to open the cover by the teeter. There it was. It...

    Diamond Smart Tables achilles heel

Almost a year ago I sold the Valleys out of my Pool Room and got all Diamond Smart Tables. This resulted in very happy customers. They play better than the Valleys but they have a quirk. In one word "chalk". Most of the time a small brush on the end of a long handle through the rack slot or...

    Simonis Spots

I've had luck with the Simonis spots. I used the cue ball and rolled and pressed like hell on the new spots. They've held up on the league 7-footers but I've replaced the everyday 8-footer about every two months. I've got decals on the side of my Diamonds advertising Simonis .. do I really need...

    Ridgeback rails....?

I got standard ridgebacks for an 8-foot Valley I used to have in my pool hall. The advantage is the "ridge" of wood along the "back" of the rail and new rubber so it will play better. A good bang for the buck. However, if its an old 8-foot it probably has a sag in the middle and nothing short of...

    Simonis Spots

The Diamond guys installed 14 spots March 1st 2015. They've held up except for the very high play 8-footer which I replaced with a left over championship spot. Another table has the Simonis spot edges just starting to curl and I will replace this weekend. Stay tuned.

    American Hertiage Table Worth Upgrading?

I'm not a mechanic but my 2¢ worth ... I personally hate plywood bathtubs with fancy legs trying to look like an 100 year old antique. I had one for a couple of years till I got my Medalist. There are a lot of nice 8 foot older Brunswicks looking for a nice home. Just Sayin'

    Simonis Spots

I don't have to have Simonis spots but Diamond wants $2 each and Pool Dawg wants 95¢. I replace spots a lot so I'll probably order plain spots from Cue & Case, 100 ~$7.00. Is there a source for Simonis spots I haven't found?
