Anyone here owns/plays with a Dominator D2 shaft?

I played with one for a while last week. It was a very firm, crisp hit. Definitely stiff at 12.8 mm.

Dont you love it when a lesser player tries to correct you game

I have to admit that I have a hard time not letting advice from a lesser player bother me when given during a game. I know several players who can give me very good advice but can rarely beat me and one who advises me on shots selection and position play who understands nothing about either...

    Conceding the Game

In golf most new players are taught the etiquette of play very early on. Most experienced players are embarassed to play with people who do not follow the etiquette of the game. Pool is played in so many places with bad or no rules, by players who have never played in a real match that etiquette...

    Aiming systems

I often double check my aim using more than one system especially critical shots. It really helps my confidence and allows me to fully commit to the shot.

    Happy Birthday, Jude Rosenstock

Evan though this seems like a frivolous npr thread, I could not stop myself from wishing you a good day. Happy birthday!

    aiming poll

I think patrick is right. Using the same cue, stroked with the same speed, and the same offset to center of cue ball, there is only one direction the cue can be traveling at the time of impact to hit an exact point of contact on the object ball. How you arrive at that direction can vary but a to...

Getting better at Long, straight in shots.

I agree I recently switched to a closed bridge after many years of playing most shots with an open bridge, I have noticed an improvement in all my long shots but especially the straight in shots. I think it must be from hitting the cue ball more accurately.

9 BALL: to modify or not to modify ?

Like jumping or hate it , I don't think in the hands of a good player there is any more luck in a jump shot than many other difficult shots. (ie. long combos, multi rail banks etc.)

    Weed Out Time

Hysterical doesn't always mean funny! Panic stricken, frenzied, out of control or very funny. Having read many of your posts I know that you have not appeared panic stricken or frenzied. :D :D

    Thoughts about Meucci cues

I like the way the meucci cue plays . I have a 300 dollar pp1 with a black dot shaft that I love. no points, wrap - it just hits nice. Workmanship and customer service must be bad to get the flack they recieve here but I own 3 and all seem well made. They arrived straight and stayed that way.

    pause before pulling the trigger?

From what I can tell the teachers that advocate a pause in the swing, advocate a true pause in it's technical definition, a zero velocity for a duration of time. The problem arises when the claim is made that you can't perform a pendulum swing without a pause. By it's technical definition (what...

    Weed Out Time

It seems to me that a forum would get pretty boring without the occasional nut. When you see one enjoy it. Don't encourage them too much. Don't run their threads up to 15 pages. Be entertained and move on. Somebody else will probably have a great thread going on swerve. Watching Smorgie and the...

    Im Done!!!!!

I would think some people who have been playing for the last ten years (me for one) would never have played with anything except laminated shafts. My first cue had a prototype flat laminated shaft that Bill Dominiak made for me (the only flat laminated shaft he ever made ,I believe). I then...

    OB-1 Shaft Owners

Some records that will be very hard to break were set with wooden headed drvers. Great golfers could play great golf with them. They choose not to. The advantages of new technology no matter how small or large are still advantages. As materials and manufacturing techniques change equipment will...

    Tightening Up

I agree with this. If I play a couple bads shots early in a match I really have to concentrate on keeping my muscles loose until I get my brain convinced that I'm not going to miss everything. At that point it either works or I am in for a bad day. Those same couple of bad shots well into a...
