    Playing on Bad Tables

Bad tables suck, I agree with what others have said about playing conservatively. Lol, I remember running a tournament at a pool hall that had a few crappy bar boxes. This one guy who had won 3 or 4 matches on the same table finally got knocked out of the tournament and came over to me crying...

    Red Circle vs. Measle Ball

I've never looked up the stats on either ball but from my experience the Red Circle CB is the best. The measles ball just seems sluggish to me.

    What to ask a instructor.

I will be taking a lesson from Mark Wilson next Saturday and I was thinking about what questions I should ask him so that I can get the most from the experience. As instructors, what questions do you like to hear students ask?

Stay away, this is not a Custom Huebler.

It's a nice Hubler but it seems that the info in the add is exaggerated. Maybe the guy is telling the truth, i dont know, but if he did pay that much for it back then he made a poor choice. I like Pauls work but that cue has never been worth $2500.00 imo. Not even half that. I'd take it for...

Mosconi Cup...The Hard Truth -- Gambling is Just Easier!

Pathetic Shark, from what I have seen from you, you are just a troll that likes to stir crap up and you're probably the reason why Bob is on tilt to begin with.

    Tip replacement

A dime width is usually fine. But if you are breaking with that cue than you may want to change it a little sooner. I would never risk damage to my ferrule just to gain a little extra life out of my tip.

Mosconi Cup...The Hard Truth -- Gambling is Just Easier!

Hey Bob, dig the sand out of your vagina and calm down. I never said one way or another was a better measure of anything. And if you think that was my one and only brief encounter with gambling you obviously don't know me. If you have read some of my other posts this week you would know that I...

Mosconi Cup...The Hard Truth -- Gambling is Just Easier!

Great post. I agree mostly with what you said. But to some extent it's apples and oranges. But I will say this, it takes a lot of discipline to dedicate yourself to pro pool knowing that the payoff is minimal. I would never fault a guy for not gambling. When people start the "Sure he can play...

    if I win the lottery

I had a idea the other day after checking out some of the college pool teams play. Wouldn't it be interesting if pool followed the model of other college/pro sports. You have a college team, that plays other teams and they get recruited to play for pro teams. Every pro team fields 5 players per...

    Frustrated

I'm not sure what you mean by "short" but if I am the better player I prefer longer races. It's been my experience that a longer race is more advantageous to the better player. Typically the longer race will outrun the luck factor. To each their own, no one is forcing you either way.

I just watched the Strickland story

I don't think I really ever got Earl until I saw this and not because of the things he said in this video, but because of the things his peers said.

    Would you ever.........

Sounds like he was hiding his speed. I value most of my cues more than their actual monetary value, so no, I probably wouldn't do that.

For those of you who have read the inner game of tennis

Interesting idea, but from what I have gathered from the book this type of inner commentary allows the conscious mind to take control which is not the desired effect. That said I have done something very similar to this myself, it's good to know I'm not the only one!

For those of you who have read the inner game of tennis

That really is a great comment and right to the point. One of the hardest things to do as adults is to learn to simplify things as a child would.
