Right tool for the job You guys sound dangerous ............or a hazard to cue shafts . Nothing better then the right tool for the job .and even then there are some who will still screw it up. The right tool is a lathe , drills turn slow and you really don't need the shaft rotating to clean...

Shaft cleaning and waxing Spinning the shaft helps and is faster, but it can be done by hand without power tools. The shaft needs to be seated so there is zero wobble . Clean and burnish with lighter fluid ..........................when wax ....and burnish again .

switching back personally I struggled using a LD shaft for about a year in a half . When I switched back to a solid maple shaft, I was thinking why did I ever buy a LD to begin with . It was nothing but a head ache .
