    Brunswick or Diamond.

Lighting, the balls used, how clean was the table? Their are many factors in the "playability" of a table, one of the things that Diamond does very effectively is selling an excellent light with most of their tables. I find the Diamonds play a little tighter and bank a little shorter, but with...

    for table mechanic/s

John, two inch plus slate, one thousand pound frame, offset going into the frame and slate at 45 degree angles on the vertical face, is not a relevant comparison to a T rails on a pool table. It's certainly not relevant to the question posted, and that particular attachment system is available...

    Recovering lessons?

Glen AKA Real King Cobra, should have a Bar table recovery DVD in the next 4-6 weeks. If he doesn't I'm sending out the pool police to bring him in for questioning....:banghead:... The production is scheduled for this month. Jay

    Identifyong Gold Crowns

1967 Gold Crown 1 had the captured nuts inside the rails. Up to 1966 they had the figure 8 plates. If you have a plastic Brunswick name plate in the head rail they usually have the figure 8 plates in the rails. The metal name plates usually have the captured nut. Both are still Gold Crown 1...

What profile to get for AMF table

Jack, I know AMF did evolve over the years. It's a shame they are not making tables any longer. I had a 1967 Gran Prix by AMF set up in my basement for years, I liked that table. Jay

What profile to get for AMF table

Most of the older AMF commercial tables, such as the Gran Prix used K-66 profile cushions. The rail liners can be modified to accept K-55 if you prefer. The later model AMF tables (kind of a Gold Crown knock off) I believe use K-55 profile. Measure your liners and let Rick at poolfelt.com know...

    artemis versus diamond cushions

I use both cushions regularly, I prefer the Artemis if I'm doing a players table or doing rail extension work to tighten the pockets...You know, the big money job...:happydance: ... For standard pockets on most tables the $200 you save on the cushions can go along way for purchasing Simonis...

    AE Schmidt

They are excellent tables. One of the finest furniture style tables on the market. Very heavy solid wood frames, well made rails, most Schmidt tables play very well. The Ivanhoe, Colossus, and Ellette are some of my favorite Schmidt models I've worked on. Great Amercian made table! Jay

    Hi fellows!

Welcome Pask, I have a friend in Paris, Christophe Chevilliotte, his family manufactures pool and billiard tables for many years. His company also imports and sells cues and billiard equipment. If you ever need any supplies or equipment they are a very high quality company and have access to...

Length of 860 on 9' Olhausen

109 inches is very workable. I, like Donny, prefer two or three more inches, but it will stretch to fit. When we cut up a bolt of Simonis for nine footers we cut 111 inches of length. If you have 78 inch width goods you can process 3 six inch wide strips for the side for your rails. I always...

    Brunswick Superspeed Cushion Speed?

I've also stopped using suoerspeed for the issues you mentioned above. I have gone to the Diamond black rubber that Pat refereed to with much better results. The top and bottom edges of the superspeed cushions have been very ragged and uneven making installation a nightmare. The Diamond cushions...

    Heated pool/billiard tables?

Paul, I would agree with you fully with one exception. The improvement in playability is not "very small" in a humid room. In that case, the playability on a heated table greatly improved. Thanks Again Jay
