    J&J or Spark Break

If you decide you want the J&J, let me know. I've got a perfect condition J&J jump/break cue that I don't use anymore. It's about 8 months old and I've used it maybe 5 times. I'd take $50.00 shipped for it.

How long will a good cue last?

I shoot with a Karella that I've had since 1993 - holding up fine - came with two shafts - I'm still using the same one that I started with when I bought the cue.

    Custom Cue Mythology

Let me start out by saying that I appreciate and love many of the custom cues out there in the marketplace today. The time, creativity and expertise that goes into these pieces is many times beyond compare and if I win the lottery (!), there's going to be portion of that devoted to buying cues...

Busty vs Bartram, 10 ball, live now TAR

Chris matched up with a top pro and lost - there's no shame at all in that. Playing against that caliber of competition for those stakes, takes a great deal of heart - I don't have the skill or the cajones to do something like that, so win or lose, you have to tip your hat to him for stepping up...

First lesson with Charlie Bryant last night ......

Ha! Between me running out and then dogging the last ball and the rolls that the other team was getting, last night was not the highlight of my pool career - lol! We'll make it up next week.

First lesson with Charlie Bryant last night ......

I drove to his house which is about an hour away from mine - he has a nice Diamond table in a private room. I'm sure that other options/locations would probably be available if you ask him.

First lesson with Charlie Bryant last night ......

After 15 years of playing pool and taking my game about as far as I can go on my own, I finally broke down and invested some money in lessons from a pro player .... in this case, Charlie "Hillbilly" Bryant. After spending 3 hours working with him last night, I drove home, got some sleep and...

Putnam and Bryant no-show World Championship

When I was looking around for a coach and someone to help me work on my game, I did a lot of research. Money wasn't an issue - I just wanted someone who a) had the skills and experience to help me with my goals and b) had a great reputation in the pool playing community (which is sometimes...

    Willie Jopling's death

I never had the opportunity to meet Willie, but after reading the comments posted by those who have, I wish that I had as he appears to have been the rarest of souls - a true gentleman. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

    No money in pool?

Unless you're one of the very top touring pro's or a great (top 1%) road player/gambler, making a living in pool is nearly impossible. Period. My advice - get an education, get a good job and/or look at starting your own business, get established and look at pool as an enjoyable hobby - if you...

Where Do You Carry Your Cash?

For the 30% of the time a week that I have cash, it goes into my left front pocket. I took out a few hundred Sat - it's gone today. I looked at my expenses and it was something like this: Gambling - 30%, Lap Dances - 50%, Alcohol - 20%. I'm left wondering when did I eat? :)

    I miss Keith playing...anyone else??

If it's the right decision for Keith to be actively involved in billiards again, then I hope that he does so and I hope have the opportunty to watch him play. Only he and the people closest to him know if that's the right decision though. If he never plays again, it would be a shame as there...

    Nick Varner...Still got it!!

Great guy and a class act. Met him in Houston a couple of months ago and he's a wealth of knowledge. Couldn't ask for a better ambassador for the game.
