Chris Melling's 4 rail bank shot

I don't think he is going to take the bait. Could you give an estimate of how many times you are going to try? Isn't there a rule that says 3 trolls is a loss, or something? Dale

Chris Melling's 4 rail bank shot

Well, a hanger is an easy shot one should make... if you've been in a pool room more the 3 times in your life. Dale(who promises to never, ever, employ irony again)

Chris Melling's 4 rail bank shot

To make it perfectly clear... my comment was only regarding the bank shot, which is what the OP referred to, and was motivated mostly by the over the top reaction reaction of the commentator and many posters. "The best shot I've ever seen". Really?? I have seen, in person, enough examples of...

+1 Good point. Manhattan is certainly no place for a bargain hunter. Just for grins, I checked the sandwich prices at a few Delis we used to frequent on trips to the city... a Reuben will set you back close to $30 for the sandwich ALONE. 6 bucks for a cola, 9 for fries. $12/hr table time is a...

Chris Melling's 4 rail bank shot

Ok Ladies. If you watch closely you will observe he hits the ball "full in the face", straight in to the rail, with no english. That is the DEFINITION of a DEAD BANK. Tho there are balls on the table, it is also obvious to anyone that has played much Bank Pool and/or 3 Cushion, none are in the...

Chris Melling's 4 rail bank shot

Sorry Charlie: Not to rain on anybodys parade, but, IMHO - that four railer was a hanger to any competent Bank Pool player. They would know at a glance if the path to the pocket was open. Dale(not quite competent Bank Pool player)

The pocket size on my new table is a little smaller than I wanted

Ah yes, the old familiar 'minimum muscles' fallacy... Watch Stephen Curry shoot a few Free Throws, he most certainly does not use the fewest muscles possible. The key point being 'that was you' George Rood used to make a ball or two. Dale

The pocket size on my new table is a little smaller than I wanted

Pardon the highjack, but, you really don't understand that dropping your elbow not only is not a "bad thing", but often preferred, or necessary, even? Please, do a search and get back to us. Dale

Very old Fullsplice cue for sale. 2 shafts and case

Close, but not winning the cigar - IMHO. It is the forearm from a fullsplice with a handle added. Not on board with the "very old" part - it is from the 80s - 90s from 'over there' Dale

ever thought about a full length one piece case?

The Pounds sign should have been a tip off, along with the name. It's a case for the ever popular one piece Snooker cues in Britain, etc. Many, if not most play, with 1 pc cues that they lug around in cases. Dale

    semih sayginer running 20

    A. He is the nicest person you would ever meet, and 2, IMHO it is the trick/fancy shot video. I know pool players who wouldn't know a kiss-back from a kiss-out who do know who he is. Dale

Top Snooker players with a closed bridge?

OK. For today, but gloves have only become common recently. Not sure if I understand how a glove would help with a taper other than the cue might slide more easily. We all value your input. Could you explain your thoughts please? Also, why do you think the Snooker players have ignored gloves...

Top Snooker players with a closed bridge?

UHHHH??? What about the millions of Carom players worldwide? Not to mention the millions of pool hall players who played almost exclusively with house cues prior to the 1960s. Dale

    Why do older cues

ASFAIK - There is onkly one cuemaker who does it that way. The standard method is to thread a tenon on the joint end of the shaft. Dale

    Good System for Backcutting Balls?

IMHO - it is ALL in your mind. Same advise as all other shots - STOP THINKING ABOUT THE SHOT. If you contact the OB at the proper "spot", it will go in. I often play with friends who can beat me like a rented mule. They just shake their collective heads in amazement at the way I pocket back...
