    Beasley Custom Cues

Congrats to you and Doug on your very solid showing in a tough field! Doug spoke highly of your play when I talked with him a while back. I'm sure that beautiful cue that Doug made you didn't hurt your chances at doing well, one bit :D Thanks for sharing that Doug is continuing to give back to...

    ID help on cue

Nice looking cue! Is the shaft original to the cue? The pic makes it look like the collar on the shaft is bigger than the one on the butt. If that shaft is original to the cue showing the shaft's piloted end might help to determine who made the cue. Good shooting to you, Kevin

    UltraSkins, Bad Tips Miscues

Utraskins are awesome! Hi Tom....I've been using your tips for over a year now and I do not find that they glaze over UNLESS I miscue HARD and I mean HARD!!! on an extreme stroke shot. They even play well in long sessions in high humidity . Basically, it's my fault if the tip glazes and...

    How Would You Shoot This?

Thanks for doing these threads.. these are fun. I'd shoot the 2 - 3 combo with a soft to medium stroke using center ball to make the 3 allowing the cue ball to bounce off the head rail and back above the 9 or near center table for the 2, or 4 if the 2 and 3 end up dropping. This looks real...

Etiquette Question: Chalking at end of inning

I see this all the time at the hall too. It is bad etiquette to chalk on the way back to your seat especially if you're lingering at the table. What's the chalk for as you are about to sit down and watch? However, I can say I'm occasionally guilty of this BUT ONLY if my last shot/miss resulted...

    How Would You Run These?

Medium stroke with a tip or so of top left to go 3 ralls to be almost straight in on the 8 from the middle of the table. My second instinct is to hit with bottom right letting the cue ball go between the 9 and the rail to get to shoot the 8 in the bottom corner. Good shooting to you, Kevin

    International Challenge of Champions 2014(California) 7 Oct,3pm (9Ball) Winner $25K

I can't believe, Challenge of Champions has turned into an extremely well paying Mini tournament. With four players they should at least do a round robin format to see who comes out on top. Other than the final prize for the one winner which is still a great pay day for the one winner, I think...

How Would You Play This Layout?

Thanks for this thread. I really like thinking through the options, hearing what the guys on here would do then seeing what ended up being the ultimate choice by the shooter. Topics like this help shake the cobwebs off of stale thinking and shot choices. On another topic...What part of a...

Who are couple of better cuemakers wood to wood joints ?

I usually prefer stainless steel jointed cues but the wood to wood joint cues that I have tried or owned that have impressed me are below in no particular order. Ernie Martinez Leon Sly Steve Dunkel Chuck Starkey Pat Diveney Jeff Olney Samsara Brent Summers Mike Capone Keith Josey Dave Kikel...

he had a great story and seemed very honest!

And that line of BS isn't even newly typed. I think it's flat out, cut and paste, plagiarized from a listing I can't seem to find that was closed as fraudulent by Ebay. One of our own saved the day on that one reporting it to Ebay as the scam it was. Good shooting to you! Kevin

    playing tip

I think the reason people think that a fatter shaft makes it easier to hit straighter shots is that with a fatter shaft there's less wiggle room in your possibly bad front hand bridge and it probably doesn't hurt that the balance of the cue can be more forward with the usually heavier shaft...

    How to Play This Pattern?

Another option. A tip of top right from this position would do the same thing and there would be less chance of getting caught on the wrong side of the 8 on the way up to the 2 on the chance you get more of a draw stroke then you expect. Good shooting to you. Kevin

    Layered Tips, defective by design?

Interesting stuff 3andstop! My take on this is that if this was a problem then you would see exposed rings showing through the chalk after shooting as the remaining chalk would fall off unevenly based on the adhesion to two different surfaces. In the last 15 years since I switched from single...
