Thanks Bob, I did. I could always rack with a template in 30 seconds or less. A good template made racking easier. Wood triangles weren’t always the perfect triangles they needed to be. The Delta 13 was a big improvement.

Normally Bob, two good players should be able to play a race to eleven in one and a half to two hours max. Atlarge could probably comment on that. This match, even though it went twenty games, felt like a marathon.

DeLuna again makes three balls on the break. Push out to a hidden two ball. Weird. Gorst immediately gives it back. Weak response by DeLuna leaving Gorst a shot. He runs the six ball run out. It’s over!

DeLuna almost misses a short three ball and it wobbles in. He fumbles along to a straight in eight ball and draw back for the nine. He draws the cue ball straight into the side pocket. Nice shot 10-9 Gorst

Referee racks, inspects, inspects and racks again. Only two minutes this time. Gorst gets up and breaks, makes a ball and loses his turn due to the three ball rule. Laughable

Watching Gorst-DeLuna now. It’s a long, slow, grinding Race To Eleven 9-Ball. 7-7 now after over two hours! The WPA alternate break rules kills all the momentum. Neither very good player has a chance to catch a gear and get rolling. They run a nice rack and now get to sit down. Momentum...

P. S. Actually watching the replay of the Gorst-Ignacio match. Both are doggiing it big time, missing hangers back and forth. Whew!

I watched this match and always study the referee’s. Someone trained them to walk (or even run) to make sure they are behind the player shooting and out of sight. Totally unnecessary, distracting and actually puts them out of position to see the entire shot clearly, often blocked by the player...

I remember Diamond tables being used in some of the last Reno tourneys. I also remember the early Rebco days and the various Brunswick incarnations that were used there over the years. I also used Diamond bar tables in some of the later years of the U.S. Bar Table Championships in Reno, and so...

Too bad these two organizations don't communicate better on scheduling. They put the players in a bad position trying to determine where to play. I don't think any player should be penalized for having to make a choice what is best for them.
