Are Corey and Melling the 2 best at dissecting an 8 ball rack ever?

I mean I would say they are in the conversation, but for 8ball specifically I think its played a lot more seriously (professionally) in Europe? That alone means there are probably some unknown monsters in 8ball that people haven't heard of. Another name that needs to be in this conversation is...

Fedor Gorst vs Tkon Nguyen race to 120 is Live

Not saying I disagree, but what ten guys would you say have a chance? I got SVB, Filler, and…uh….maybe Ko brothers plus FSR?

Amazin Billiards in Malden (Boston), Mass.

Pretty good Thai, Viet, and a Brazilian Steakhouse (by plate weight) nearby. Amazin is probably the best room in the state, but there's only really a handful to choose from.

2025 Mosconi rosters - Euro changes a coming

Big fan of Neils. His youtube channel really showcases his knowledge and personality. Never really appreciated his talent when I was younger but definitely do now. Be great to see another HOF still mixing it up with the new generation.

    Mezz PB2 Question

Hmmm I have had one for probably over 7 years? Never had any issue with the logo. Seems like the finish has worn off if that has been happening.

    Dechaine vs Krause

Mike played like a monster. Still got that firepower!

    Future of cues and equipment

Its the smoothness of cf for me. Shaft stays smooth throughout the whole session. Damn thing rolls perfectly straight too on a lathe or rolled on the rails of the table. That benefit cannot be doubted. Having said that its all preference.

Instructors in the New England (Boston) area?

Hey guys, So I know this type of thread has been posted before, but who do you all recommend in the New England (primarily Boston) area? PBIA has a few listed and I’m finally trying to get lessons. People around me have mentioned Roy Pastor and he seems to be a good guy when I talked to him...

    Quality of affordable cues...

I mean it’s a stick. We all get caught up with new innovations and products. New tech works as designed, but at the end of the day it’s also just a stick.

2024 China Open - where are the elite Chinese pros?

Don't know but thank you for posting brackets lol. Been looking for these when I saw the tournament being streamed on youtube.

    800 in 3-5 Business Days

Yeah that’s the thing I noticed about the cuetec butts. They be thick. For anyone that wants a thicker handle this is the way to go.

    2024 World 8 Ball Championship (2-8 Sep), New Zealand , Winner $75K

Yeah I'm on the fence with this. For growing the game and reaching a larger viewership, maybe? Would you as a player want less time though? It's an odd spot as a pool player who is watching as I would want to see the best pattern and out. Maybe I'll learn something. How many non-pool players...

    2024 World 8 Ball Championship (2-8 Sep), New Zealand , Winner $75K

I thought most pros wanted more time for 8ball. Maybe 45 seconds to 1 minute. I think most here would agree that 8ball is easier to all pros but finding the optimal pattern, breaking out problem balls, and then having to possibly alter the pattern does take some time. It's not like 9ball or...

    Texas Open, 2024, Skinny Bob's, Aug 27 - Sep 2

Yeah definitely am rooting for Mike too. Curious what he thinks the level of competition is at now compared to when he left. Lots of monsters emerged over seas from places that I don’t think were considered strong before.

North of Boston, Where else besides Amazin?

I think there’s also Alston Billiards. Kind of in the heart of a college town and parking/traffic is always a pain.

US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

Agreed. I think this is a live and learn moment. MR has put together a coherent tour so far. Much better than anything I've seen in the past decade or two.

Oscar had a clean set to close out FSR. Looked Buddy Hallesque.

big new Cuetec product coming soon? anybody have the scoop?

Curious how they will also adjust weight and balance. CF has always been known for its lightweight to strength ratio. Not sure that's a good thing for a pool cue butt. I'm particular with the balance and am curious to see how they feel in the hand.
