If you live in Boston or plan to visit, the room I'd most recommend is Amazin Billiards in Malden. It has a 12' snooker table in its own room, four (?) carom tables, and plenty of pool tables. If you're looking for a classic pool hall, Amazin Billiards is it.
Mazin Shooni, the owner, is a 3-cushion billiards player, national champion, and nice guy. Take a lesson from him if he's in town!
During the day you'll park on the street. Your maps app will take you to the right building, but you might not see the sign for the room right away. Amazin Billiards is on the second floor. At the top of the stairs there's a room with a solo table behind you to the left and a few tables ahead of you. Then when you walk ahead a bit and turn the corner to the right: yowza! You'll smile seeing the room. If you're there looking to play for money, maybe don't smile right away. Or whatever.
The carom tables are at the far wall, and the snooker table is at the back right in its own room (along with cozy seating).
The balls are high quality. The tables clean. Great table lighting. Cue lockers. Just look at the photos on the website.
If you want to find someone to play, that won't be a problem, whatever your game may be. The carom tables were busy. I had an offer to play one-pocket.
During tournaments there's a YouTube live feed.
You'll find vending machines near the desk, but you'll also be close to a lot of restaurants in and around Malden Center.

If you'll be sticking around Boston and have time to venture outside of town, there are two other rooms I'd recommend.
West of town check out The Billiards Cafe in Ayer. There's a commuter rail station a very short walk from the Cafe, and taking the commuter rail is a good option if you plan to take advantage of the bar in The Billiards Cafe. On weekends you get a cheap commuter rail pass.
North of town, very close to the New Hampshire border, is Maxamillians Billiards in Tyngsboro. There are league nights, good pizza, and a friendly atmosphere.
